I enjoyed season 1 without being blown away however season 2 took it to another level couldn't stop laughing from episode one. A truly enjoyable binge and one of the best British comedies around currently!

I really liked this show. Continuous storylines through each season, while each episode has it's own separate caper. Worth watching.

I first saw him in "Misfits" and I loved him. In "Preacher", he stole the spotlight from Dominic Cooper. And now he stars in the series he created. I couldn't miss it.
"Brassic" currently has two seasons of six forty-minute episodes each. The story follows a group of young "white trash" people in an English country and deals with their life problems and petty crime in a way reminiscent of a mix of "Trainspotting", "Shameless" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". The characters are diverse and mostly hilarious, and the acting is great. The first season did not leave a particularly strong impression, but in the second, the fast pace, crazy action, and British humor will not allow you to catch your breath.

It kills me that there is only six episodes a season, but I'm American and we are greedy sons of _______. Regardless, I need to see more of Bronagh Gallagher as Carol. She has too little of scenes! But the real reason I keep watching is when Gilgun plays Vinnie he just illustrates the tug of war and exhausted struggle of how depression/anxiety wears on someone who sticks around because of their loved ones. It's heartbreaking and bittersweet to see how well it comes out with the supporting cast. DON'T CHANGE A SINGLE CAST MEMBER!!!! 😂🤣

There's not one thing I dislike about Brassic. The cast is perfect, down the extras, and the layering of the storyline makes it fun to rewatch over and over because there's always something new to find. Small touches in the background (like the repeated "Carl Slater bums dogs" graffiti you see throughout the town) thread the episodes together so the storyline feels more real. But I don't want to drop spoilers here and potentially ruin it for you, so I'll steer clear and stick to more general stuff.
One of the most wonderful things for me about Brassic-apart from the stellar soundtrack-is the humor and familial love between the members of the group. It just makes the whole thing so damn enjoyable. Even some of the background characters, who would be throwaways in other shows, are treated with affection in Brassic (the few exceptions being those who don't deserve it). And there are so many hilarious support characters adding to the show's colorful palette, like Steve Evets's gruff Jim the farmer (who has an intense rivalry with his Farrah Faucett-haired farmer neighbor) and Vinnie's lunatic therapist, expertly played in a surprising turn by Dominic West.
Speaking of Vinnie, I thought I loved Joseph Gilgun after This is England and Preacher, but Brassic sealed it for me. The fact that the show is loosely based on his life makes this one more personal, and the way he integrated his experience with bipolar disorder into the show was handled with honesty and candor. Every aspect of his performance in Brassic, from the comedic to the dramatic, is truly brilliant.
Some of the episodes have unexpected features that make it magical, like floating graphic images and sudden breaks in tone (it's so hard not to insert spoilers here!), but one of my favorites is a seemingly small one. No matter how chaotic or disastrous their antics get, Vinnie always manages to crack a smile at the end. Just a nod as each episode wraps, affirming the charm and heart of the show.

This show it utterly brilliant, it's written with steals and talent.
And tackled the issues of Bi-Polar And mental health..they properly nail it spot on. Joseph Gilgun, who has no-polar in real life gives the performance of his life in my eyes..I laughed. Cried and hives the tv! Well done all

The writing, the delivery, the cast EVERYTHING!! It's so good. You will laugh and you will more than likely cry as well. You grow to care about every single character. They are a loveable bunch of scallywags - would love to share a beer with them all! Binge it - you will not regret it.

I upped the score from a 6 to a 7 because Joe Gilgun is the new Pete Postlethwaite...it's never going to be as amazing as This is England obviously, goes without saying, but it's just so amazing to see Joe in a main role at last

Just started watching Brassic on Hulu and I enjoy much of the storyline so far. Joe Gilgun brings a lot to the table and he is supported well with his mates each having their own quirks. I find the female lead unlikable. While we can all probably say we know someone just like that, I don't find myself rooting for her. She's giving me strong Skylar in Breaking Bad vibes and I never think that's a good thing. Looking forward to season 3, but hoping for a fresh love interest. This is 2021 you don't need to be with your child's mother anymore to be happy and civil. So a little stale there but overall pretty good.

As the title says.
S1-4 was the peak of this show. Season 5 was nothing too bad but a little bit disappointing in comparison. Season 6 goes completely off the plot. Maybe Season 7 can bring it back.
I understand the show got bigger overtime but the writers need to go back to the drawing board and make the series more interesting again. There's just nothing notable in season 6. A completely forgettable season with nothing to show for it other than a perceived number of filler eps. All the old beloved characters are just all over the place. It just feels like an AI w rote this season at this point.

I've been a huge Joe Gilgun fan since the outstanding This Is England series and I felt that this might just be worth a watch.
I sat and watched episode one and before I knew it, I was watching the end of episode 6. It is really very, very good.
As with anything that Joe Gilgun does, there are moments of outstanding comedy and also genuine, heartbreaking emotion. I saw an interview with him where he said of Brassic that it was related to his younger self, and I know that he really does fight bipolar so this was him baring his soul for all to see. No spoilers here so you'll need to watch it for yourself, but believe me, you'll thank me for it.
It's funny, genuine, extremely well acted (the casting is genius) and I sincerely hope there is going to be a series 2!

I just binge watched series one and it made me laugh out loud. The last two episodes were the funniest for me. I love Gilgun in this and you can tell he played a large part in its creation. The rest of the cast were perfectly selected and kept me entertained. Don't listen to the haters. Yes they are a dysfunctional bunch and completely outrageous but it's meant to make you smile and I personally think it was done brilliantly. I cannot wait for series two. Keep up the good work everyone!

I liked this from the very first episode I watched. I didn't pick at it or analyse it, I just watched and enjoyed it. This was a totally new style of comedy production, and it is good old English course, crass, uncouth humour, unashamed, unfiltered and unapologetic.
The cast are a far fetched declassed bunch of misfits functioning outside the restraints of society without much regard for law, order and the property of others, while having a curiously tight bond of loyalty to each other and their style of life. One of the oddities is that they are largely tolerated by the community of sorts and indeed the comunity seems to have a similar code of conduct and ethics, if only to a somewhat lesser degree.
The characters are fully fleshed well thought out individuals, though believability is somewhat pushed to the limit. They are played by a competent cast of actors who really do an excellent job rendering the individuals they play.
Eseentially they are a gang of what 'they' term 'Professional Thieves' but in reality they are buch of losers who are no better at theiving than a sheep shearer on his first day, and the series revolves around their weekly exploits. Each episode there is some new hair-brained scheme they either want to get involed in or some fantstic score worth a few hundred quid they try and lift. Its pretty paint by numbers from this perspective and very 'Scooby Doo' in the way things play out with almost no variation on procedure and outcome, but there are some very interesting sub-plots that run through the series which actually I found more intriguing that the weekly escapades to nick someones car, boat, horse, painting, or coin collection.
There is a natural cohesion amoungst the cast that really seems to bring some moments home, and I have had plenty of laugh out loud moments, despite the humour mostly being calamatous situational circumstance. There are some classic verbal echanges, jokes, and character quirks that help make the show more robust. And it does do well from these angles.
One of the problems I had is that it got very 'samey' after season one. I could preempt amost every situation and outcome within 5 minutes of watching because the same formulaic production process that has worn threadbare.
Another problem I had was that the characters are still as stupid and incompetent as they were in S01 Ep01. They've learned nothing and even for a comedy this doesn't really fly. There are only so many times you can mess up a burglary, get caught in a stolen car, or get cornered by the local fuzz for the exact same reason before it gets old. Hence the frustration. Its hard to accept this type of failing when it's offered up every single week, even a comedy series has to veture past this limitation.
I do get some laughs here and there but the magic the show had has gone and I'm watching series four more on momentum than anything else. I don't necessarily think there is a problem with the characters per se, its the writers that are the issue. They just recycle the same situational humour week in and out without reaching for new ways to bring depth into the plot or look past the the static character profiles they've created.
I'm not sure I can make it past season 4 since I think the show has already offered up its best, and watching new episodes is like watching re-runs. I've just seen ads on TV for a new series six, but unless they've got new writers on board I seriously doubt that much will change. Truthfully I liked this show but I think I should have stopped at series two.
I also don't think this humour is for everyone. Some will really hate it and not understand the highly ranked reviews, I really get that. If you have a more discerning palette for humour, I don't think you will like this... and I mean at all! But if you have a broad horizon of tastes for comedic entertainment, or just like plain low brow humour, you'll probably love it.
For my earlier expeirence with the show I'd rate it 8. But for my later rating for what was on offer I think it's a 4. I'm going to round them up to a 6/10 and reccomend you watch it and judge for yourself.

I kept hearing about Brassic but didn't get round to watching it when it was on Sky. It appeared on Netflix a few weeks ago so I decided to watch one episode and I have been hooked ever since.
The characters, the situations, the mini heists they get into...are all incredibly funny, laugh till you cry funny.
It is also surprisingly heartfelt in its handling of mental health, loss and grief.
I especially loved the foul mouthed farmer and Dominic West as the sex addict doctor but all the characters are amazing.
I'm at the end of series 4 and the standard and quality of the writing and humor has remained at a very high standard.
2024 was a rough year for me for personal reasons but Brassic helped massively. No matter what mood you are in, watching one episode is greet therapy.

On some levels it's great, but you also can't watch more than two or three episodes at a time because it's the exact same thing every single episode.
They always steal something. There is no law enforcement except for laughs so there are no consequences. That's great, it's entertainment. But why not go for it? Why plai it safe? It leaves the characters to be stuck with little more yeah catchphrases.
Why not just make it weird and crazy?
It would be thieves riding around in a car if not for the genius of Steve Evers, Dominic West and Bronagh Gallagher.
Really it should be them as the three main characters in a different show because that would be awesome. I'm not sure how we can hate them or love them. Is this six hundred words yet?

Me and my partner just finished watching shameless a few weeks ago for about the 4th time on Netflix. Just starting binge watching this Brassic and absolutely love it, I cannot stop watching it. I love the humour and drama all mixed in. The actors are all spot on for this series also, I've seen some bad reviews from people and think where are their heads at honestly, some saying I put it off after 10 mins or half an hour. Give it a chance. And if they can't find this funny well what the fxck do you find funny. Well anyway I'm away to finish season 4 and cannot wait for season 5 to come on Netflix. Definitely give it a watch and a chance.
