I'll be the first to admit: it's not 100% accurate to the book. There were a lot of changes, but I believe most of them were to add more drama, and also agency to an oftentimes overlooked and trodden-upon character. No adaptation is going to be completely faithful to the book, whether that's by Warner Brothers or an indie company producing a fan film.

Gorgeous cinematography, VFX, scoring, casting, production design...there's so much to like about this film, and it was well worth the wait. Is it the perfect adaptation? No. Is it exactly as described in the books? No. Is it a visual feast and a fresh take on a beloved series? Yes.

I think two things really detracted from my enjoyment of the film.

The first was that they included James and Lily as well Hepzibah Smith in a very unrealistic and rushed way that took me out of it a lot because of how wrong it was.

The second was that there was no development or dialogue of any kind. They just rush forward with very little dialogue of any sort.

Overall, the film was again, extremely rushed. I get this was a fan made film and to make it feature length would cost a lot of money, but the problem is they needed to make the movie not feel like one long 30 minute action scene.

Don't get me wrong, the action was very well done. And some very well written moments like Bob Ogden recognizing the locket were there. Other than that this film was just not good.

It's passable if you want to watch 30 minutes of Dark Wizards and expensive looking sets/action scenes. It's a very strong C- a 7.0000/10 it barely passes for a film I'd recommend because for fans of Harry Potter this ain't it.

Things like Voldemort using a muggle contraption like a car to get around is so unrealistic really does not fit and the film is full of stuff like this. It also doesn't help all the dialogue happens during action scenes.

We must not forget that it is a fan short movie and that the cast and crew are not "pros" (yet) but indeed they made a good work. I must admit.

+ : special effects, atmosphere, some good actors, cares on details and story

• : some actors overplaying/not convincing, too much slow motion kills slow motion...

Some may criticised some liberties but they are very few. Don't know if it's worth talking about it.

It's really wonderful, highly recommended for all HP'fans.

Unlike "Fantastic beasts and where to find them: crimes of Grindelwald" I could aktually watch it without my eyes bleeding and enjoying.

The whole film was very enjoyable to watch, especially the action and spells, which deserve way more recognition! I recommend to every harry potter fan, this is great if you want to know more on the backstory of Lord Voldemort himself. Granted the ending could've been truer to the actual story but amazing nevertheless.

9.2/10 how is this even possible? The scene of death of Hepzibath could be forgiven (even with the pointless masks), but the death of Lily and James? Have you read the books? Or worse, have you watched the movies? I'm so disappointed because the short film took so long to shoot.

It's short, for me to short. I would like to see full blown story with this cast, cause they were marvelous (for this short screen time they've got). I fell in love with actress playing Merope, she is so magnetic here, even without having any line on script. My beloved Maxence in Lord Voldemort role.

There is some changes in the script that were different from the book, but we can't actually require it to be 100% accurate. They had their own vision and 0% of chances on Warner Bros budget, so localizations is few but scenography is WOW, as well as special effects, which looks really good.

I was very open minded upon seeing this, you can tell the camera works are very good, but actors, plot, scenes are all off. It's not canon, boring and it gives no HP vibes. I'm so sorry how this came out. The hype was too much.
