Could have been a Brilliant Movie

1. Not sure how many people would have understood Panama shell company episodes mentioned in this film. A typical explanation by someone about it would have been made reachable for common audience.

2. How did Nasser get affiliated with the swami ji wasn't mentioned anywhere.

3. Though the opposition leader's daughter seemed to have soft corner for Our hero, there was no strong reason established why she should help him. Infact by not helping V.D, opposition leader could have grabbed the power. Doesnt this seem obviously simple logic? 4. Why is Satyaraj daughter targeted? V.D never expresses any love or interest for her, logic??

Except for these, rest Nota was definitely a good movie to watch.

Bad Screenplay and Flawed Ending

Falls Flat

Movie is utterly boring and the only saving grace is Vijay Devarakonda's acting...

Although less engaged, good ideas kept it up!

Although it didnt meet my expectation levels wrt screenplay which i beleived would be like the director's earlier movies, the movie was an average overall with some watchable twists/flashbacks, and some notable scenes like how we could've saved those lost lives in Chennai floods and finally it ended up by presenting a very good challenge to the politicians on the Coovum river issue.

Not a bad movie

Yes the movie has a very same plot as the other movies in Tamil cinema in the recent years . The idea is to imitate the current political trends and comment on them . Yet NOTA stands different from any other recent movies . Mostly through very impressive cast performances. The movie though not a full end political thriller and has a few commercial elements and plots to entertain the debutant Vijay Devarkonda (Protoganist), though the movie finds ways to entertain but still lacks the story and the plot is no different from any other

Much better than Bharath Anne Nennu

I was not expecting plot will be engaging through out the whole movie, might be because I had negative thought before I watched it but at the end one time watchable.

It stand between Leader - Telugu movie 8 points which I rate and Bharath Anne Nennu - Telugu movie 1 points which I rate

Movie would have been better if the screenplay was bit better can say 2 scenes in each half of 10 to 15 mins each scene would have been good.

Telugu version is Cringeworthy

I guess this movie with Deverkonda was made to appeal Tamil folk. The Telugu version was just cringey in 1st half with a song in the pool and overdramatized scenes of political riots and floods. The character of protagonist is very polar, sometimes chill and confused and other times hothead which is weird. 2nd half had too many subplots to the point that it was annoying, and made the film look something from 1990s. With so many actors, the film couldn't budget for technicalities, making it look sloppy. Deverkonda, even with his current popularity can't save this disaster of a film.

An out of stereotypical effort👍

First of all thanks to the director for not tempting to cast a dream girl song with Mehreen. The movie is an absolute political drama and it's definitely a one time watch film. Cinematography is apt for the film. I personally felt the film has casted many Tamil artists to gain their support and ofcourse the movie is Vijay's debut film in Tamil. Comparisons always arose between same genre films. In the same way starting 10-15 minutes you will feel it as a slice of 'Bharat and nenu' . But then it completely deviated from the former. Good thing about the film is No hero worshipping!! Film lost its aura in the second half. Too many sub plots and less impactful ending are the primary cons. Don't think too much, if you like political melodrama. Give it a try!!!!!

Must watch!

Why? Because this is a political thriller, a very rare genre. The movie starts with the similar premise of some other political dramas(Leader(2010) and Bharath ane Nenu(2018), where the son of the present chief minister sworns in as the chief minister. But the movie takes a different path from there on. High points of the movie are the performances, the direction, the cinematography and the fast pace. Even though we Indian audience love to watch movies with twists and turns, the one-dimensional and clean narration has worked out. Not that it doesn't have a twist, but it's a small one, but not predictable. Overall the movie is good. I have read other reviews and some Telugu audience haven't liked the movie and are complaining that the movie is made for Tamil audience only. But, I say, if you are a movie lover you'll definitely like it.

One time watch

Above average movie . Bad screenplay . Common and boring story. Vijay plays a role of a minister son . VIJAY ACTING IS GOOD. Sathyaraj was good. Keeping a heroine in the film is waste of time . Totally bad movie from VIJAY DEVARAKONDA and STUDIO GREEN (Gnanavel Raja)

Political movie

Political thriller movie, no romance or no particular suspense but rather a movie on governance. How to be a chief minister of a state.

A 6.5/10 movie

The first half is so lame and slow, the second is when the actual story begins and it becomes interesting and it had very interesting scenes, The rowdy CM handles difficult situations in a unique manner. I have no idea why people are saying that 1st half is better than 2nd half. They better watch the movie again. This movie is way realistic and slightly better than Bharat Ane Nenu. The title of this movie metaphorical, people are complaining that there no mention of NOTA anywhere.

Muddled romantic vision of politics

Varun (Vijay Devarakonda), a chief minister's happy-go-lucky son inherits that august position, in time honoured Indian political tradition, when the dad Vinothan (Nasser), grounded by corruption cases, resigns. Varun is a fun loving chap, but the guy works in London, as if to hint that he is apart and did not inherit dad's traits. He also got a tender heart which he serves as a side dish on special occasions. He wants to celebrate his birthday in an orphanage. How lovely! There starts a one man army to transform the state in one fell swoop, doing nice things to people. We have seen this before, Leader (2010), Bharat ane nenu (2018), and this is yet another muddled romantic vision of bringing just democracy to people with dictatorial powers and near unlimited money supply. These one man dictatorial shows existed in real life too, in the past century. The story repeats, first as a tragedy, next as farcical Telugu films.

This film spans additional threads in the vogue. Secret accounts of political leaders in Panama stashing thousands of crores; an odious Swamiji befriending Vinothan, with power on the latter's political influence, and Lord of the Rings' Sauron like eye on his material affluence. Varun starts investigating all this and dispatches one of his game designer colleagues to hack Panama accounts. Apparently, game companies that operate on tight budgets and often go to wall, have funds for such an enterprise. Never mind. Kicking away the context to foreign countries is a device used to take liberties with the plot. Satyaraj as Mahendra continues his Bhishma kind of kindly demeanour from Bahubali, radiating even more benevolence and advises Varun as if the latter were a philosopher king. Nasser takes up where he left off in Bahubali too, sounding more menacing than ever, plotting against his own son at some point. Then we come to know of some twists that entwine the lives of Varun, Vinothan and Mahendra.

There are two lead women who are mercifully spared usual song and dance ensemble with the hero. However Varun's characterization is pretty weak. On the one hand he is a playboy clubber, to please some section of the audience, next he is foreign returned, with supposedly thoughtful sophisticated concerns on corruption, to please another section, and then forgetting the sophistication, morphs into "rowdy CM" which excites "mass". His CM position does not prevent him from irresponsibly getting drunk, shown to be funny, cool, glamorous and trendy.

Ko.Ku (Kodavatiganti Kutumbarao) remarks somewhere that one should not write stories set in an environment the writer is not familiar with. "Yes, minister (1980-88)" the British political satire and its sequels fall in this category, with comical interpretation of dour British political developments. So is the case with 'House of cards (2013-18)', rather outlandish sinister interpretation of politics on the other side of the Atlantic. Both are nevertheless credited with closely mirroring the reality, passing KoKu's test. Films like NOTA do not inspire such confidence. These are absurd interpretations of not so well informed writers, with politicians reduced to cartoons. These are not political, but just another excuse to show heroics of the lead guy under the guise of "alternate politics" - a strange non existing beast. Late British politician Tony Benn, before standing down as MP, famously said he was quitting parliament because he wanted to focus on politics. Giving up power for empowering people. There has been a spate of Telugu films where the protagonist assumes dictatorial powers to empower people. Spot the difference!

Interesting in plot, weak in execution, unrealistic and unconvincing main lead.

Political thriller drama.

As per my point of view it is perfect political thriller. Some issues has been duplicated classically and performance wise every one just done there job. Climax suspense is good last minute turn. But it's not the regular Telugu movie. Tamil audience can pretty much enjoye it I don't know about Telugu people reaction after watching this. Any how go for it if you are thriller movie lovers.

Not a Vijay Deverkonda fan until i saw this , went with a friend (willinglessly) just to accompany, went without expectation, but it turned me on for the whole show, and this man stole the show. What a performance.

Exactly what I expected!

When would the audience really start upgrading themselves with respect to cinema in in India. This is the kind of drama I expected from bharat anu nenu. I'm totally surprised to know that it's a flop. It must have been a deliberate attempt by fan associations. Anyway, good job vijay again.
