Wow.....the last time I laughed so hard was the first time I saw Sathileelavathi in a theatre during my childhood. I love Guy Ritchie movies, this reminded me of some good plot twists in those movies I love.

I never watched the trailer but the viral hit song hundred times over. I thought this was going to be some funny romcom, boy was I in for a surprise.

Excellent cast, memorable quirky characters and good background score by Anirudh. First half of the movie sets up the stakes well. It's the second half that drags you for a riveting but funny ride.

Best comedy I have seen in recent years hands-down. Kudos to Nayanthara for the subtle and innocent portrayal of Kokila. Koko was cocaine mixed with laughing gas.

Screenplay was fantastic, Nayanthara's innocent acting was flawless, Yogi Babu's comedy was laugh riot. Overall it was a fun ride, esp a very gripping screenplay kept the audience engaged.

The greatest trick a Director can pull off is keep you invested in the story irrespective of all illogical and absurd things going around. That has exactly worked here. It could still have been taken as an emotional story, but the screenplay is just brilliant and Nayantara's character changes are quite brilliant. Must watch!!

Went to watch the movie for Nayantara but came back impressed with Saranya.A simple story of a ingenue girl outwitting druglords with a black comedy plot.Comedy does feel predictable in some parts and Some scenes are unconvincing. But still the movie works. Though I like Nayan but a younger actress would have been a better fit for the role of Kokila.I saw a review saying this is a copy of "We are the Millers". No it is not except a truck full of drugs concept.This is more of a movie which says "looks can be deceptive" and "women are not weak"

Awesome acting by Nayantara and team. The dry, sarcastic comedy was spot on.. It was well thought entertainment, without the usual muscler hero or the pretty heroine... The script and screenplay was well played out.

One of the few understated movies that will become sleeper hit..

Acction performce and tecnicaly i feel a cult movie. Concept also similar to breaking Bad seriese. Decting was so rush and scenes in entire movie. Song also perfect but visualy lame. But comdies are ultimate twist and turns and emotional scenes are not convisible. As my opion all the nagetivity came from hurry of the direction and low budjet. If the direction take as much time and choose diffrent diffrent location you would have watched perfect mafia film. How out put is good but not perfect. My suggetion is watch this without any expectation. Comdey and bgm will make you satisfied.

Nayanthara is the show stealer; she is absolutely stunning and impressive with her innocent looks. She blends very well with her character and carries the movie on her shoulder being the main protagonist, making sure the movie is entertaining. Yogi Babu is hilarious with his wittiness. All the other support casts had contributed equally to the movie.

I didn't find anything negative or maybe there was a letdown but it didn't bother me much while watching the movie. I was glued to the screen and the movie kept me entertained the whole time. Even to those who watched 'We're the Millers' might find Kolamavu Kokila refreshing as the director has spent good time on the script.

I don't remember I laughed so much in a movie . Every actor has done a fine job. Completely entertaining .....

Dear kareena n katrina, please watch this film on priority n try to learn something. Actor #nayanthara is clearly the undisputed hero of #KolamavuKokila. Shes from a poor family n needs money desperately. She cant get a promotion because she refuses to meet her boss in private. But her scared expressions n her hesitant attitude help her in peddling drugs. Her employers trust her completely n she silently endorses this illegal business as if shes born to do it. Shes ably supported by saranya, who plays her mom n yogi babu, who plays her admirer. Definitely worth watching. Rating 3.5/5.

I was skeptical before booking to watch this movie as it was known to be drug related movie. I really love the way all have acted especially Nayantara, Saranya & Yogi babu. The crispy acting by Redin & Anbu Thaasan was also good.

It is really proud to see how a film is made with Nayantara as lead role This film really shows how talented she is in acting. Hats off to the director and crew who made this film. I think the actress up in north should learn a bit of acting from Nayantara :)

What A Movie Superb Nayanthara Acting Great ..... And All Supported Cast Work As gd First Half Not Gd But Second Half Mind It.....

Not a so good movie. Nayanthara and everybody in the acted very well. Yogi Babu and Anbuthaasan's comedy was excellent in the movie. Only "Kalyana Vayasu" song was good in the movie. Other songs are not so good in the movie. The was so boring in 2nd half. But the movie was so interesting in 1st half. The movie has no twists or turns. The movie had many unwanted scenes. The movie can be made more better.

Firstly, I feel the entire crew(except Yogi baby) did acting more than what is needed for the film. Story plot is very weak, we can predict each and every scene we have seen these kind of movies a lot of times. After seeing Nayanthara in Aram, one would expect a better acting from her but this is something which is not needed at all and I wonder why the title lady superstar to her by fans. Funny. Only positive about the movie is Yogi babu he was also not present for the entire movie to rescue the audience.

Kolamavu Kokila, a directorial debut for Nelson is a very good mix of Comedy, Love and Crime. Nayanthara just goes on proving her worth as a leading female actress in the industry. Clearly she is the nucleus of this film, right from the first dialogue to the last stare that she gives in the film. She has portrayed the innocent, but at the same time really cunning Kokila beautifully. Supporting cast have been another plus for this movie. All have played their parts really well, especially Saranya and Yogi Babu. A comedy thread runs throughout the movie despite it taking a serious note at some parts. Music from Anirudh is on another level. Yet another entertainer from Nayanthara. Truly she is proving to be the Lady Superstar. A great fun and entertaining movie to watch. My rating: 10/10

It is not Upto the level of Doctor ( movie directed by Same Director Nelson after this one ) .

What strikes you the most about this movie is the Music - the music director, Anirudh literally drags u to the theater with brilliant music. Kolamavu kokila aka COCO is a heroine centric movie which tells the story of a lower middle class family that struggles to make ends meet when faced with an 'sudden need for money'. The elder daughter, our protagonist has to take a very unusual & dangerous path to earn money which puts both herself & her family at risk. Did she & her family survive?? The serious story is made in a very whacky way with dark comedy and some unusual support cast who will make u laugh whenever u see them on screen. The movie had many flaws & loopholes but the cast & music gets u high & so u won't complain. Sit back & enjoy the movie - u won't regret.

One of lady super star's best movies. The comedy part is awesome and nayanthara's innocent acting is too good. In this hero-centric cinema industry, this movie deserves a loud applause. Hats off to lady super star.

Story and screenplay is really good that I really didn't feel that the movie was dragging. Great comedy scenes since the beginning. Music as usual blast by Anirudh. One of the best film of 2018. Great job by the director.

A good film with narcos subject. Nayanthara and yogi babu acting was good. Yogi Babu's timing comedy is good. Most of the new actor's did good job in this film, like jacquline(nayanthara sister) and some youtube artist. Background score was amazing, especially in two scene.1. The girl took the gun and shoot the villain's assistent. 2. The climax scene. The screenplay was good. Good film.

The film is an out-and-out star vehicle that keeps giving its star whistle-worthy moments. And most remarkably, it manages to stay true to its genre and ensures that the script comes before the star.
