Just started watching this "Travel Channel" series about strange beings and creatures that inhabit and live in wooded areas and it is well done and very scary! As anyone knows beauty and nature and unexplored woods seem strange and many of the spots have history and folklore. This series reenacts actual sightings and interviews real witnesses who have encountered and came face to face with "Bigfoot" and monsters and strange creatures as many have even faced ghost and demon spirits in the woods! Many of theses cases occurred at night that makes it even more spooky! And these big bad wood sightings featured are from many different U.S. states. Really fine and fabulous series each episode brings fright and fear as it proves strange things are lurking and hiding in deep dark hidden places!
First off I do not understand many of the reviews written here bashing the show because it is not real, ? This is an entertaining and well produced show that makes for a fun evening of scares. Grab some popcorn and a beverage and just let your imagination go. Do not attempt to analyze this show, it's purely for entertainment. Yes the real people who claim that the events happened to them are just actors, probably Canadian. My favorite episode was Season 2 episode 7, We Were Goners. That episode brought back instant memories from my childhood playing around with my brother and nephew. Not sure why the series has two different titles, "Terror in the Woods" and "These Woods are haunted", but it is the same series. I wish they would produce some more episodes, can't get enough of the Bigfoot stuff!!
This show is absolutely glorious. I stumbled on a marathon that was playing on Travel Channel, and what I saw was incredible. If you are looking for something incredibly dumb and hilarious to watch while drunk with friends, this is it. The show is compromised of people telling stories about how they encountered stuff in the woods. Whether it be ghosts, Bigfoot, or other monsters.
These stories are shown through absolutely amazing "dramatic reenactments", in which they range from showing cheesy 90's-esque computer effects, or even putting a guy in a monkey suit and having him yell and flail his arms around like a crazy person.
This show is really funny. I'd recommend bringing some friends over, having some drinks, and enjoying the chaos.

Why in heaven's name won't all these ex vets, policemen, hunters with guns ever shoot their guns at these bigfoots, dog men, aliens,or any other monsters in the woods, and put a bullet in their asses??? I mean, if something or somebody was trying to come in on me at my cabin or camping area to harm me or my family, you bet I'm going to shoot to kill, not turn around and run or go back to bed like many of your episodes, that is unless every one of these shows are fake and scripted!!!
If you watch these shows, it is what it is. You either watch because you believe, or you watch because you're a skeptic and just enjoy a good ghost story.
I often fall into both categories. This series does right what other good shows do right... real and/or believable interviews. The dramatic scenes are always fake, but the interviewees will mean the difference between me watching 5 minutes or every episode.

- CuriosidadesSeveral titles reuse the same stratagem in their stories, whereby the protagonist wakes up somewhere else than their bed, where they went to sleep. Ex: in "Hell hound", a lady wakes up in the woods, but is lucid dreaming and then re-wakes up in her bed for real. In another, a feeble man woke up outdoors as well, and was facing a huge, biped, devil-goat. In another, a woman at a sorority fell asleep in her bed and woke up downstairs, by the entry door (in the one with the serial killer of sorority girls); in yet another, a mother and child fell asleep in their bedrooms but woke up on the couch, to find their upstairs bedrooms locked with the other child trapped there. In all instances, no explanation is provided for how they were transported elsewhere in their sleep. (Except the lucid dreaming woman.) It ought to be noted that many of these "recreation" shows are 100% fictitious---though presented as reality TV/docu-drama---and the people being interviewed are actually also actors, besides the actor playing the same character, recreating the story told. This can be easily corroborated by looking at the cast listings: two actors will be playing the same character. When the interviewee is the real person, it will say "Self".
