While the concept looked interesting at the beginning, everything ended up ruined by the bad script, the bad acting and stupid cliches. Characters doing every little stupid thing that they shouldn't do just got boring really fast. Very bad CGI and make up.
What a way to ruin Siren Mythology... They came up with an interesting concept and they just ruined it by turning it into a greasy Soap Opera. I can't believe I watched this!
Beautiful Australian land and seascapes, gorgeous women, handsome men... an interesting premise. The show really shines in the beginning when it plays more like an Animal Kingdom type of crime drama. However, when it shifts to focus on the fantasy elements, the story and some of the acting becomes cringeworthy at times. The better actors tend to be the supporting characters. The lead is okay, but when forced to play against the weaker actors, her own limitations are more exposed.
I might watch next season to see what happens... but it's a bad sign when I'm struggling to finish rather than staying up all night trying to see what happens.

It's well written and acted. It seems the shows I enjoy most on Netflix are from Australia including Tidelands and Wentworth. Both are excellent. Tidelands is intriguing and infectious and is one of those shows that compels you to binge watch it.
I found this show intriguing, It has some bad points but i have found it enjoyable to watch.
Yes, Its an Aussie drama and seems repetitive at points after watching all 8 episodes i found myself hanging on to know what happens next, I feel they have just tried to fit too much into only 8 episodes.
The story had a suspenseful aspect and leaves you wanting to know more, more about the history and the future of the town, Charlotte Best play her character well and as a far of supernatural drama i thoroughly enjoyed a more realistic spin.

If the scenery and cast weren't so gorgeous there'd be no reason at all to watch this. The other reviews point this out well. With a plot such as this I wasn't expecting much, but the acting is embarrassingly bad even for a day time soap (with a few exceptions). It made me laugh at the points where the drama was supposed to be riveting. Lovely bodies and mindless violence with nothing to justify or substantiate either.
