"I Got Injured": Daredevil Star Charlie Cox Reflects On Iconic Season 1 Hallway Fight Scene
Image
In the second episode of Daredevil season 1, "Cut Man," Matt Murdock dons his makeshift black costume and sets out to rescue a young boy who has been kidnapped.

An epic, hard-hitting one-shot fight sequence closed out the Man Without Fear's rescue mission and those action-packed oners became a staple of the series. Even Daredevil: Born Again put its own incredible spin on the concept when Daredevil did battle with Bullseye through, and above, Josie's Bar in the premiere.

Charlie Cox was recently shown the scene again and offered some insights, starting with the moment Daredevil takes out one of the thugs with a microwave. "First of all, you see that microwave that hits the guy in the head? I've signed about 10 microwaves," the actor joked.

He added, "We shot it very early on, so it's the end of episode two, but I was really still playing catch up in terms...

Daredevil: Born Again Returns To Its Netflix Roots With A Jaw-Dropping One-Take Action Scene
Image
Spoilers for "Daredevil: Born Again" follow.

The premiere of "Daredevil: Born Again" wastes no time at all, kicking off with an action scene that's out to remind you of the original "Daredevil" series.

Here's the set-up: Bullseye has attacked Josie's Bar and critically wounded Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson). Matt/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) arrives and attacks Bullseye, fighting him into the bar. Daredevil has strength and rage on his side, so Bullseye is left running. The one-take begins in the interior of Josie's, then follows Bullseye as he makes it up the building's stairwell, Daredevil close behind, before the fight concludes on the roof.

These extended one-take action scenes were a hallmark of the Netflix "Daredevil," which did a new one in each season while trying to one-up the previous scene. The first was in the second ever "Daredevil" episode, "Cut Man" (directed by Phil Abraham). Taking place in an apartment building hallway,...

Before Born Again, Matt Murdock’s top 10 Daredevil moments from the Netflix series
Image
If the early reactions to the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are anything to go by, it is set to be one of the best things Marvel has put on television and perhaps even on screen. Screenrant’s Liam Crowley said on X that it “has the best pilot of any MCU series thus far, and it’s not close.” Sean O’Connell of Cinema Blend labeled it “just as brutal” as its predecessor, the show Daredevil on Netflix, which ran for three seasons before getting cancelled. Now it's been Born Again.

Helmed by Dario Scardapane, who previously worked as an executive producer on The Punisher, the new series almost entirely brings back the old cast. Charlie Cox returns as the lead character 10 years after he first appeared as the lawyer by day and masked vigilante by night, Matt Murdock, a.k.a. The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen,...

Image
If you've watched the original Daredevilseries or seen clips from it on YouTube, you've probably encountered what could be the series' defining moment. What follows is a brutal, intense fistfight between Daredevil and the Russian mobsters that's done in a single five-minute shot.

Daredevil's Best Episodes on Netflix
Image
Daredevil's live-action reputation was bolstered when the TV series originally streamed on Netflix, filled with compelling street-level stories. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onfrio have since been reintroduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some recent projects, including the live-action miniseries Echo and the upcoming successor Daredevil: Born Again.

But with the original series seemingly becoming more relevant to the character's upcoming MCU appearances, it's more than worth revisiting. Between Daredevil's iconic bouts with Kingpin in episodes like "Speak of the Devil" and the gruesome showdown with Bullseye in "The Devil You Know," there's no shortage of excellent storytelling across the show's three seasons.
