If you are like me, it's difficult to find original films in a world filled with big budget safe formulaic movies. Torn is a rare gem that is a thought provoking psychological thriller worth investing your time. This movie proves low budget does not mean low quality. Actor/writer Jordon Alexander gives an award worthy performance along side a stellar cast. Whether you are considering buying a ticket to see Torn at your local theater or heading to a showing at the local film festival circuit, be sure to arrive early and get good seats! Two thumbs way up! Looking forward to seeing more from director Ryen William Thomas!
This is a great film! Well-made story, takes the viewers on an exciting journey through one man's struggle and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time! Sometimes, when we think we have life (or a movie) figured out, we realize we just might not. Excellent cast and crew brought this film to life and truly gave it a quality that stands above many other movies I've seen. There are many twists, and turns, and moments that make the hair on the back of your neck stand-up! It was a pleasure to watch this film. Definitely recommend watching this one! Kept me guessing & on my toes!! Add to your watchlist now!
I expected a supernatural thriller but found this to be a very serious and gripping treatment of a major social problem that films rarely attack head on. The protagonist turns out to be a very complex figure who is fighting a losing battle against his own demons. Some may take supernatural elements seriously; I took them as a metaphor. The ensemble cast was outstanding, full of classic southern figures, well-acted. And while the cast is diverse, race plays no part in the plot whatever. This is a serious film and no one will feel they wasted their time watching it, trust me. Highly recommended.
"Torn" masterfully blends the haunting elements of psychological thriller with the supernatural, resulting in a gripping cinematic experience that leaves you questioning the boundaries between reality and folklore. Directed by Ryen Thomas, this film is a tour de force in storytelling, aided by a stellar cast that brings depth and authenticity to their roles.
Jordon Alexander delivers a powerhouse performance as Peter Stube, a man grappling with the demons of alcoholism. His portrayal is raw and unflinching, capturing the torment and desperation of a soul teetering on the precipice of self-destruction. As the narrative unfolds, we witness Stube's journey to Bilford, a town steeped in werewolf legend, searching for solace and redemption.
Alfonso Freeman, in a supporting role, adds a gravitas to the narrative with his portrayal of Sheriff Mike Lewis, a figure who becomes pivotal in Stube's quest for self-discovery. Freeman's commanding presence on screen is a testament to his seasoned acting prowess, enhancing the film's intricate layers.
However, it's Danny Vinson's portrayal of Ned Bowers that steals the show. Vinson brings a haunting vulnerability to the character, making Bowers a standout figure in the town's tapestry of outcasts. Bowers is a man battling his own monster, and Vinson's performance is nothing short of extraordinary.
The screenplay, penned with meticulous care, weaves a narrative that seamlessly blends the psychological turmoil of its characters with the supernatural elements of Bilford's werewolf lore. The pacing is taut, maintaining proper suspense to keep the audience engaged.
In conclusion, "Torn" is a testament to the talent of its cast and crew and a must-see for aficionados of psychological thrillers and supernatural dramas alike. Bravo.

I'm a big fan of psychological thrillers, and "Torn" will keep you at the engaged from the beginning to the end of the film. "Torn"does not disappoint whatsoever. The pacing of this film is perfect. From the actors to the production staff, you can tell everyone involved was on one accord. I'm no directing expert but I found it to be outstanding. The excellent use of lighting, the camera viewpoints and the acting is an absolute delight for any film enthusiast to watch. This is a must see film, again, I'm a great fan of thriller/horror films and this is one of the best. The acting is excellent and the storyline is superb. Definitely recommend to watch again, and again and again.
