The Last Of Us Season 2 Episode 4's Opening Features An Unexpected Cameo
Image
Spoilers follow.

"The Last of Us" has leaned heavy on big-name cameos and guest roles since the start of season 1. Nick Offerman won an Emmy for his single-episode turn in the critically acclaimed "Long, Long Time," and the rest of the season was full of stellar short-term performances from the likes of Nico Parker, Ashley Johnson, Troy Baker, and Melanie Lynskey. All of those turned out to be meaty roles, but season 2 delivers a more traditional cameo in episode 4.

The episode opens on a flashback to 2018, 10 years prior to the main events of "The Last of Us" season 2. We see an armored vehicle carrying Fedra soldiers through the Seattle quarantine zone. As the squad bumps through the city, one among them -- the obligatory jokester of the group -- tells a "funny" story about one of their superior officers brutalizing civilians. While the actor playing this part is somewhat obscured by his massive helmet,...

Paget Brewster Is 'Really Proud' of Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2
Image
Paget Brewster is a fixture on Criminal Minds. The actor has played FBI agent Emily Prentiss for over a decade, and as Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 comes to a close, she's continuing to find new directions to take her character in. The season has seen Prentiss get into some very intense situations, while also briefly wanting to leave the Bau again -- although thankfully she didn't.

In an interview with Cbr, Brewster discusses why she still loves playing the character of Emily Prentiss. She also talks about working with her Criminal Minds co-stars both in front of and behind the camera. Plus, Brewster reflects on playing the memorable scenes in which Prentiss and Jennifer "JJ" Jareau opened up to each other while high.

Cbr: You've played the character of Emily Prentiss for longer than some entire TV shows have lasted. Why have you wanted to keep going with her into Criminal Minds: Evolution?...

‘Dexter: Original Sin’ Adds James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu & Reno Wilson As Production Begins In Miami
Image
Dexter: Original Sin has cast four new series regulars to join previously announced Patrick Gibson, who is taking over the titular serial killer role (in his younger years) made famous by Michael C. Hall in Showtime’s Dexter.

As production kicks off today in Miami with Clyde Phillips at the helm, James Martinez, Christina Milian (Falling Inn Love) and Alex Shimizu (The Blacklist) have joined the series portraying younger versions of Og characters.

Martinez plays Angel Batista (originally portrayed by David Zayas), an up-and-coming homicide detective who leads with his heart; Milian plays Maria Laguerta (Luna Lauren Velez), Miami Metro’s first female homicide detective; and Shimizu plays Vince Masuka (C.S. "Impossible!": Former Nickelodeon Star Recalls Claim He Was Close To Playing Twilight's Edward
Image
Josh Peck reveals that he almost played the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight, but lost out to Robert Pattinson. Peck's audition for the role came down to him and three other guys, according to his agent, which he found impossible considering he wasn't even in great shape. Peck jokes about the casting decision, saying that it was like choosing between Chris Hemsworth or Stanley Tucci for the role.

Josh Peck reveals that he was considered to play the romantic vampire Edward Cullen in the Stephenie Meyer adaptation Twilight, a role which eventually went to Robert Pattinson. Peck first rose to fame on Nickelodeon after appearing on the sketch show The Amanda Show and co-starring with Drake Bell on the sitcom Drake and Josh. By the time Twilight premiered in 2008, Peck had also held roles in ER, Mean Creek, and Ice Age: The Meltdown.

Per Variety, Peck made a surprising...

Why and How Did Drake & Josh End?
Image
Drake & Josh was a popular series on Nickelodeon that was a spin-off of The Amanda Show. The series starred Drake Bell and Josh Peck as fictional versions of themselves as step-brothers whose contrasting personalities often get them into trouble. The supporting cast included Miranda Cosgrove as Drake's younger sister Megan.

Since Drake & Josh was a series primarily aimed at kids and young adults, many of its target demographic probably just realized one day the show stopped airing new episodes. As opposed to primetime series, which get a great deal of fanfare before they end, series aimed at kids sometimes end or get canceled without the fans ever realizing.

This has left many wondering if Drake & Josh canceled. Or did the series get to end with a proper finale? Here is how Drake & Josh concluded its story, why the series ended, and why the chances of a revival are slim.

Florida Girls Review: Pop TV's Latest is Raunchy, Over-the-Top Fun
While at SeriesFest 5 in Denver recently, I had the opportunity to attend a fascinating panel featuring showrunners and series creators under 40.

In addition to the creators and showrunners of This Close on Sundance and Joey Slamon of Tru TV's I'm Sorry was Laura Chinn of Pop TV's Florida Girls.

If not for that panel, I might have skipped over the latest Pop series, but Chinn was a hoot. Her series captures her essence, and Florida Girls is must-see comedy.

You might not know about Chinn, but she's been lurking behind some good shows including Grandfathered and The Mick.

With Florida Girls, she has taken her personal story and blown it up for the world to see. It's not exactly her life, but her life is its inspiration.

Before this review begins, let’s be clear. Reviewing comedy is not my thing, and I am not a comedian.

What you...

‘The Handmaid’s Tale’: Season 2’s Most Surprising Emmy Nomination Is the Series’ Key to Winning Best Drama
Samira Wiley
In a morning full of snubs and surprises, one of the more intriguing moments was the reveal of the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama nominees. It’s not shocking that there were three nominations for “The Handmaid’s Tale” in this category, given how the show has always been a showcase for a wide range of roles for women. But what was a surprise is the three women chosen: Previous nominee Samira Wiley (who competed last year in the Supporting Actress category and lost to Ann Dowd), Cherry Jones (who made a few appearances in Season 2 as June’s mother Holly), and, seemingly out of nowhere, Kelly Jenrette as “Annie.”

If you had to look up who that character is, don’t feel bad. Jenrette has one major scene in flashbacks during Season 2, Episode 4, “Other Women,” in which Annie confronts June (Elisabeth Moss) as the woman “wrecking” her marriage — calling her a “fucking whore.

The Biggest Celebrity Feuds of 2017
There was no shortage of celebrity beefs in 2017.

Whether the fights were between co-stars or once close friends, the shade just kept coming. Let's take a look back at the most intense celebrity feuds of the year.

1. Blac Chyna vs. Rob Kardashian

Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian's split turned a new level of nasty when the former couple exchanged wild accusations against one another in a heated, Nsfw social media war in June. Kardashian shared graphic naked photos of Chyna, accused her of cheating on him multiple times and also accused her of being on drugs. Meanwhile, Chyna took to Snapchat to accuse Kardashian of also cheating on her and being physically abusive.

One month later, a judge granted Chyna's request for a temporary restraining order against Kardashian.

"Revenge porn is a form of domestic abuse," Chyna's attorney, Lisa Bloom, said during a press conference.
