I haven't been this happy watching a movie in a long long time. No one could do a better and proper cinema revival of Pakistan other than Lashari. The story, character development, and outstandingly implemented screenplay by the creative genius himself. Everything about the movie reflected the perfectionism that went into making this. Can't express my emotions truly to see Pakistani cinema reaching the heights. Main cast didn't fail to surprise but man, was characters like Maakha and Mooda were well written. Thank you for doing this, Team of TLOMJ. This was very much necessary for the love of art and culture. Also, the aura and climate reminded me so much of characters and series like The Witcher and GOT. Without a doubt, it's a 10/10.
Ok I was a bit skeptical going in because of all the hype and drama around this production but I was pleasantly surprised. Simply put- this film has high entertainment value, you will not be disappointed. Without giving away any spoilers, I think Bilal Lashari has done a great job in recreating and retelling an iconic Punjabi-Pakistani story. Having taken inspiration not only from the original Maula Jatt (1979) but also from the Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi's short story "Gandasa". I think this film does an incredible job of bringing this tale to a new generation, while still preserving the original punjabi dialogue. There's always an added pressure on the actors for remakes especially for cult-classics such as this one, however Fawad Khan as Maula Jatt and Hamza Ali Abbasi as Noori Natt did complete justice to the characters. In fact all the actors (save for one actress, you can guess who) gave solid performances. Beautiful score, incredible cinematography, all in all this film is really really wonderfully done.
Bilal Lashari is really talented, he doesn't shy away from violence, the fight scenes are really brutal.
This movie should be tax free, Pakistan film industry really needs support, this movie was delayed for so long, it's most expensive movie Pakistan ever made, should at least cross 100cr. And it might do just that since a lot of people will watch it multiple times, and the audience clapped at the end.
Action, Performances, BGM, Dialogues, Locations everything is perfect.
And good thing movie doesn't have songs in between expect what Fawad and Mahira sing in their own voice for like 45 seconds.
Fawad's transformation made me feel really skinny all of a sudden, this bulky look really suits him, and i could not imagine Fawad in such a powerful role but he really pulls it off. Deserves all the best actor awards this year.
Hamza Abbasi's Noori Natt is menace. His performance will give you chills.
Sequel is unlikely since Fawad won't gain weight again as he faced health issues because he's a diabetic but i wish they make one where Maula Jatt fights tyrants like those old japanese movies Yojimbo, Sanjaro and Seven Samurai.
There are so many scenes i wanna talk about but just go see it yourself, it deserves a theater experience.
Will watch it 2 more times, maybe even 3.
Had a great time.

If you are expecting something great from this movie expect More, then expect More and expect More a thousand time then you will reach the level of this movie. This movie was not Pakistani cinema at its best, its THE cinema at its best. Hopefully it will be the revival of Pakistani Cinema. The characters... ufff (Maula, Noori, Daaro and Moda). Not only that the sceneries and whole setup was way above anyone's expectations. This is the best movie I've watched in years. Pakistani people need to watch this masterpiece and see the potential that Pakistani movies could have, and not only it was Pakistani it was in Punjabi. REVIVAL... HOPE...

This movie is EXACTLY what Pakistani filmmaking needed. Finally, on original work of art that isn't chasing item-songs, or trying to imitate Bollywood dramatism. This is a beautifully shot, and incredibly well written film and I genuinely cannot think of a single complaint. I can't believe I was able to watch this in theatres in Canada. And the PUNJABI!! Hamza Ali Abbassi is LEGENDARY, and Fawad Khan is PHENOMENAL. The actors and their commitment to these roles shone through the movie and everything from the costumes, to the sets, to the dialogue is truly so well done. This is movie will leave Pakistan's mark on the world! The Legend of Maula Jutt: TRULY LEGENDARY!
