The steampunk taser crossbow was designed by Los cazadores de mitos (2003) Adam Savage. At the end of production, Max Landis sent him a hero prop version as payment.
Following the announcement in December 2017 that there would be no Season 3, fans started a petition on Change.org to continue the show. It gained over 100,000 signatures, but in March 2018 executive producer Arvind Ethan David released a statement saying the petition would not rescue the series from cancellation. He thanked the fans for their efforts and support.
Early into the show's shoot, Samuel Barnett (Dirk) slipped on a wet bridge and severely injured his right shoulder, which ultimately required surgery. He muddled through a few episodes holding his arm still, and a stunt double filled in for a fight scene, but they finally decided to mask it by having his character suffer from an escalating series of shoulder injuries.
The nerve disease from which Amanda suffers, "pararibulitis," is not a real condition. Even the name is a meaningless jumble of terminology.
The show was shot almost entirely in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is most notable in the early episodes. For instance, Todd's apartment and all the scenes surrounding it were filmed on the corner of Guelph and Broadway in the late summer of 2016.
