It’s been 20 years since The WB aired Supernatural‘s pilot episode on September 13, 2005, and we first met the Winchesters: bookish Sam (Jared Padalecki), on track to be a lawyer, and his serious older brother Dean (Jensen Ackles), a supernatural hunter like their father John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who trained the boys from childhood. “Dad’s on a hunting trip, and he hasn’t been home in a few days,” Dean told Sam in that opener, and the brothers were spurred into action. We haven’t been able to take our eyes away since. For the next 15 seasons — and years — viewers watched Sam and Dean grow into formidable hunters. Sometimes, the brothers were sent to Hell, or possessed by a demon or archangel. It was never easy, but they always had each other. Supernatural was often a monster-of-the-week series, but it was also so much more. You can’t really stop the Apocalypse in 42 minutes,...

The View might be the number one daytime talk show on television, but some viewers are growing tired of the summer reruns, blasting them as ‘stale.’ Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro and the rest of The View staff are currently on summer break, with new episodes set to return in September. In the meantime, the long-running show is airing old episodes. However, some fans think rerunning past episodes doesn’t work when The View is such a topical show. Taking to The View Reddit forum, one user asked, “Should The View Even Air Repeats?” “The View is a very topical show. Viewers tune in to The View to see what the hosts will say about whatever everybody else is talking about,” the poster continued, noting that while “the hosts and production crew need time off,” other topical shows “would never air repeats weeks or months later.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 4 “A Space Adventure Hour.”] The latest episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is, in a word, fun. But such is the case for pretty much every episode of this Paramount+ series, which, since it premiered in 2022, has been one of the most entertaining shows on television. But with “A Space Adventure Hour,” Strange New Worlds goes so meta, with a low-budget knock-off Star Trek series within the episode, which introduces a prototype of the holodeck. La’an (Christina Chong) is tasked with testing it out, and she has Scotty (Martin Quinn) create a simulation based on a detective series, Amelia Moon. In it, La’an is the detective, while Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Celia Rose Gooding, Babs Olusanmokun, Melissa Navia, Jess Bush, and Paul Wesley all play characters, crew members, executive producers, and the like from the aforementioned TV show, The Last Frontier.

Nielsen has long been known for counting the number of people who watch TV shows and the commercials that accompany them. Now it hopes to be recognized for helping advertisers determine whether their spots actually spurred a consumer to make a purchase or similar decision tied to sales.
The measurement giant said Thursday that it would launch technology that help marketers and media buyers understand whether a commercial spurred a specific outcome, such as requesting more information about a product, visiting a showroom or car dealership, or actually making a purchase.
Advertisers and TV networks have been pursuing such information for years.

Since “The Next Generation” first powered up the holodeck, “Star Trek” episodes have been able to use the fabled sci-fi device to create whatever environment someone can program. The conceit — thanks to replicator technology, holograms, and the suspension of disbelief — has given us a pipe-smoking Data playing Sherlock Holmes, Capt. Janeway starting a morally complex relationship with an Irish barman, and the creation of Vic Fontaine and his nightclub on Deep Space Nine.
Starfleet is in the early stages of developing the holodeck in the time of “Strange New Worlds,” and Season 3’s “A Space Adventure Hour” has the USS Enterprise beta testing the technology. The episode follows holodeck episode tradition, and in it, we see the cast take on new characters, new costumes, and more than a few wigs.
Anson Mount’s Capt. Pike tasks Christina Chong’s La’an to run the nascent program through the wringer to see how it holds up.
