Jimmy spent over 25 years in print and broadcasting as a field journalist. His achievements include several national and international awards for his documentary work as a producer, editor, and cinematographer. Most notably, he is the only journalist to take former LAPD Officer Karl Hettinger, (whose partner was killed in the infamous The Onion Field murder), back to the place where it all happened in 1969.
Jimmy turned filmmaker in 2016 and created Vanilla Palm Films - a Southern-based film production company that features talent from Alabama and Mississippi and whose primary filming locations and storylines are rooted in the Deep South.
