Exclusive: WWE star Natalie Eva Marie is set to star alongside Randy Couture, Neal McDonough, former WWE tag team champion Oleg Prudius, Bai Lin and former UFC Lightweight champion Rashad Evans in Phoenix, an action-thriller from Tadross Media Group, Bulldog Brothers Entertainment and director Daniel Zirilli that has entered production in Miami.

Phoenix centers on Fiona “Phoenix” Grant (Marie), a U.S. Army veteran Sergeant who is teaching hand-to-hand combat skills in Afghanistan when she receives word that her father, Everett Grant (Couture), a prominent security specialist, has been killed in Florida. The police report says it was suicide, but Fiona doesn’t believe it. Encouraged to take a leave of absence by her commanding officer (McDonough), she heads back to the U.S. and soon learns that the prime suspect is Maxim Vasiliiev (Prudius), a ruthless local drug kingpin with an army of mercenaries and enough legal, political and business...

Ryder Allen is set to join Justin Timberlake in the forthcoming drama Palmer directed by Fisher Stevens and written by Cheryl Guerriero, whose script appeared on the 2016 Blacklist.

The film features Timberlake as the titular Eddie Palmer, a former college football phenomenon who, after a stint in prison, returns to his hometown to get his life back on track. There, he faces not only lingering conflicts from his past but also a much more surprising challenge as he finds himself suddenly in charge of a unique, loner 7-year-old boy named Sam (Allen) who has been abandoned by his wayward mother. Palmer marks Allen’s feature film debut.

Academy Award-winning producer Charles B. Wessler (Green Book) will produce alongside Sk Global co-CEOs John Penotti and Charlie Corwin. Sidney Kimmel and Daniel Nadler will also produce. Sk Global and Nadler will co-finance the film.

Allen is repped by Paradigm and Trilogy Talent.

Todd Stashwick has booked two films. The 12 Monkeys actor is set to appear in Justine Bateman’s Violet, opposite Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux, Luke Bracey as well as director Dennis Dugan’s Love, Weddings, and Other Disasters with Jeremy Irons, Bobby Moynihan, and Diane Keaton. Violet, which is produced by Bateman, Michael Jones and Larry Hummel, centers on a rising film executive (Munn) who lives according to the Voice (Theroux) in her head, until unexpectedly realizing the truth – it’s been lying about everything. Stashwick will play Rick, a disgruntled and judgmental manager of a Midwest car dealership who is intimidated by and jealous of his sister Violet’s career. Written by Larry Miller and Eileen Conn, Love, Weddings & Other Disasters is about the people who work on weddings to create the perfect day for the loving couple – while their own relationships are outlandish, odd, crazy and far, far from perfect.

Exclusive: When They See Us actor William Sadler and Mike C. Manning will stir up some scares in the forthcoming horror feature Slapface written and directed by Jeremiah Kipp. The film is set to shoot later this fall.

The pic follows Lucas (August Maturo from The Nun) who lives with his older brother (Manning) after the loss of their parents. Lucas befriends a Monster in the nearby woods, and trouble ensues. The town Sheriff (Sadler) tries to thwart the wrongdoings of Lucas and the Monster before it is too late. Bianca D’Ambrosio and Chiara D’Ambrosio (The Young and the Restless) will also star.

Emmy James has won the prize for Best Actress in a Feature Film in the title role of Sarah Q, the new independent feature film from award-winning director John Gallagher.. The movie is described as a serio-comic tale of a young girl’s struggle to succeed at a Manhattan acting conservatory. The festival, headed by Michele and Bill (nephew of Paul) Sorvino, also honored Sarah Q with nominations for Best Director (Gallagher) and Best Supporting Actor (Garry Pastore of HBO’s The Deuce), Sarah Q stars newcomers Emmy James and Ashlee Macropoulos in their starring debuts. Ms. James studied with Gallagher in his acclaimed One on One acting class, and with co-writer Joe Benedetto, crafted the role specifically for her.
