Tribeca Film Festival Music Events: A Taylor Swift Talk, J.Lo Doc, Machine Gun Kelly’s Acting Breakout and More
Image
Since its 2002 genesis, the Tribeca Film Festival has celebrated music to a degree uncommon in the film fest world, and the 2022 event gathering again includes a wide array of music-focused events, including not just documentaries and music-centric narrative features but music video premieres, artist conversations, and master classes.

The overlap between film and music is evident right from the start Wednesday night, when the festival will host the world premiere of Jennifer Lopez’s Netflix documentary, “Halftime.” The doc follows the singer’s evolution as an artist, from her performances onscreen and on stages around the world to her 2020 Super Bowl halftime show and beyond.

This year, the lineup will also incorporate songwriters and producers in conversation, including what will surely be a full house at the Beacon Theater for Taylor Swift as she shows and talks about her “All Too Well” short film. Also on deck for conversations are Pharrell Williams,...

Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner in Entertainment Tonight (1981)
Tributes from celebrities and friends have come flooding in after the death of longtime Entertainment Tonight Senior Producer Bonnie Tiegel on Jan. 23.

The show released this statement:

"Our entire Entertainment Tonight family is mourning the loss of our dear friend and colleague Bonnie Tiegel. For over 20 years, Bonnie has been the heart and soul of our show and a respected member of the Hollywood community. Her energy, laughter and love will be immensely missed by all who knew her."

In addition, numerous members of the entertainment community shared their memories:

"When I arrived at Et in December, it took me about an hour to realize what an absolute force Bonnie Tiegel was, to the Et staff and to the industry," says Entertainment Tonight Executive Producer Sharon Hoffman. "She was truly a Hollywood legend. Everyone I've met has a Bonnie story, not just about her formidable and unmatchable work as a producer, but also about...

So You Think You Can Dance Recap: Summer Lovin' (Had 'Em a Blast)
Cat Deeley, Matthew Morrison, Stephen Boss, and JoJo Siwa in So You Think You Can Dance (2005)
I know it’s early into Season 11, but I’m not sure So You Think You Can Dance‘s effervescent Rudy can do any wrong.

Ok, maybe he should consider a 10 percent reduction in wide-eyed golly gee-ness when he gets positive feedback from the judges — it’s sometimes a fine line between wicked heartthrob and ventriloquist’s dummy — but you’ve got to admit he’s as loveable as a teacup chihuahua peeking out from a cashmere blanket (or a newborn kitten cradled in an endive leaf, if you’re not really into canines).

Tonight, Rudy scored some additional (and...

So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Performance Recap: Feels Like I'm Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Tanishaa Mukerji
The term “religious experience” gets thrown around a little too much nowadays. We hear it used to describe food, art, sex — even sports.

So You Think You Can Dance‘s Season 11 Top 20 performance episode, however, legit served up white doves and incense flowing out of an Italian cathedral door — courtesy of a contemporary routine from Ricky and Jessica that may go down as one of the greatest moments in show history.

“That just came from heaven,” exclaimed judge Mary Murphy, momentarily jumping off the Hot Tamale Train to get on her knees and give thanks for having witnesses something so utterly graceful,...

'Sytycd' results: Two eliminated from Top 14?
Spoilers ahead. Two more dancers have left the competition after tonight’s performance show, which featured the exceedingly endearing Anna Kendrick as a guest judge. I’ll post my full recap of tonight’s performances later on; in the meantime, discuss!

Alexis Juliano and Curtis Holland have been eliminated. Curtis injured his shoulder during rehearsals this week, so that one was a given.

Jasmine Harper and Mackenzie Dustman landed in the bottom three for the girls, but only Alexis and Jasmine had to dance solos.

For the guys, Nico Greetham and Alan Bersten joined Curtis in the bottom three.

We Shine the Spotlight on Switched At Birth Star Lucas Grabeel
As the ABC Family drama series Switched At Birth returns for its second season, life gets even more complicated for Bay, Daphne, Emmett, Toby and their respective families. In a recent press conference call, co-star Lucas Grabeel shared what he is enjoying about the show now that it is picking up steam and has won over the hearts of millions of fans, plus a few teasers about what lies ahead in the second season.

How does the verdict affect the relationships between the two families now that Angelo was awarded such a significant amount of money?

Lucas: Well, he definitely doesn’t shy away from spending it right off the bat, and to thank the family for all of the hospitality that they have shown him he buys everyone in the family a pretty lavish gift. And some people respond to it very positively. My character, for instance, gets three...

Will Kirstie Alley be Emmy good luck charm for 'Dancing With the Stars'?
Eric Roberts, Tori Spelling, Reginald VelJohnson, Alfonso Ribeiro, Anna Delvey Sorokin, Joey Graziadei, Ilona Maher, Jenn Tran, Stephen Nedoroscik, Dwight Howard, Julianne Hough, Phaedra Parks, Chandler Kinney, Danny Amendola, and Brooks Nader in Dancing with the Stars (2005)
Kirstie Alley and the choreographers of "Dancing With the Stars" have something in common -- they have each contended for eight Emmy Awards. However, while Kirstie Alley took home Best Comedy Actress for "Cheers" in 1992 and Best TV Movie/Mini Actress for "David's Mother" in 1994, the dance designers have never waltzed off with an Emmy. In 2006 -- its first year of eligiblity -- "Dancing With the Stars" earned three bids for Cheryl Burke, Tony Dovolani and Nick Kosovich but they were all bested by the team of Charles Kaplow, Kenny Ortega and Bonnie Story who choreographed "High School Musical." In 2007, there was a three-way tie as both Mia Michaels and Wade Robson won for separate routines on "So You Think You Can Dance" while John DeLuca and Rob Marshall prevailed for "Tony Bennett: An American Classic" leaving Louis van Amstel of "Dancing With the Stars" the sole loser. In 2008, Wade R.
