Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is back in action, and it looks like he’s found himself a new romantic connection for Reacher Season 4. New set images have revealed Sydelle Noel in character as Tamara Green — a New York Police Department homicide detective and Reacher’s latest love interest in Prime Video’s hit adaptation of Lee Child’s novels.

Green is based on Theresa Lee, a character from Child’s Gone Tomorrow, which serves as the inspiration for the upcoming season. In the book, Lee works alongside Reacher to investigate a high-stakes case in New York City. For the series, the character has been renamed Tamara Green, and she’s paired with her NYPD partner Docherty while getting drawn into Reacher’s orbit — both professionally and personally.

Instagram user @rikiwichman recently spotted Noel filming in full costume for the new episodes, sporting a red shirt while embodying the character on location.

Although the television medium has produced a variety of long-running series, not every show that graces TV screens can have long-term success. Television shows often suffer from weak writing, characterization or circumstances outside their control, reducing many series with major potential to a footnote in the pop culture zeitgeist.

Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) — the self-proclaimed "direct descendant of a wanderer" — is back. While season 2 of "Reacher" is based on Lee Child's engrossing "Bad Luck and Trouble," season 3 closely follows "Persuader," the author's seventh novel in the "Jack Reacher" series. The latest season's three-episode premiere already proves that adapting "Persuader" was a good call, with the story gliding from one dramatic high to the next while showcasing the best of what Reacher is capable of. What's more, season 3 cements the fact that no one can improvise or brute force their way through a dangerous mission like Jack Reacher. But of course, Reacher's high-stakes missions are incomplete without some dependable allies having his back, and this time, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) emerges as Reacher's primary partner and confidant.

Duffy makes her presence felt right from the get-go.

It’s hard to imagine that Alan Ritchson so seamlessly fit into the Reacher role — so much so that he pushed aside one of the biggest stars on the planet, Tom Cruise. Before starring in the Prime Video adaptation of Lee Child’s uber-popular book series, the behemoth of a man with the voice of an angel was best known as “Young Scully,” and the cult hit Blue Mountain State.

Now, in his third outing as Jack Reacher, Ritchson remains in the role, relentlessly entertaining. He continues to possess pitch-perfect comic delivery with an edge that creator Nick Santora knows is essential to the series’ success.

After reuniting with his former team to avenge an old friend's death in New York in Season 2, Reacher is given a risky assignment in Season 3. In the latest trailer, Reacher's next mission is alluded to, along with a fresh setting, new faces, and a key character from Reacher's past who has come back to exact revenge. All that and more lies ahead as Reacher's Season 3 trailer is deciphered before the show returns in February.

The explosive new trailer for Season 3 of the Prime Video hit Reacher has just been released, and if you thought you'd seen star Alan Ritchson kick some butt in the first two seasons, you haven't seen anything yet. Ritchson returns for the Season 3 premiere on February 20, which will see the debut of three new episodes, with the remaining five airing weekly thereafter. Smallville originally planned to include a female-led Justice League episode in the series' final season. One of the writers even breaks down who would have made up the team. Smallville debuted in October 2001 on The WB and reimagined the Superman mythology for the 21st century. The series ran for ten seasons, transitioning from The WB to The CW, and featured many other DC characters, including Green Arrow, Aquaman, Cyborg, and many more. Season 6 introduced the show's version of The Justice League, and it appeared the series planned to feature an all-female version of the super team in its final season.

Smallville almost introduced an entirely different version of the show's Justice League in its tenth and final season. Bryan Q. Miller, who was a writer and story editor on The CW series, recently opened up about the idea behind the scrapped episode.

Miller shared the plans for the scrapped "female Justice League" episode during a recent appearance on the Super House of El podcast (via KryptonSite). The episode would have seen main character Lois Lane (Erica Durance) teaming up with previous guest stars Kara Kent (Laura Vandervoort), Zatanna (Serinda Swan), and Jayna (Allison Scagliotti) of the Wonder Twins to save the day. "Being able to put those characters together that we had played with individually was a lot of fun, and it went away," Miller recalled.

Smallville remains one of the most beloved comic book TV shows ever made and, for many DC fans, Tom Welling is their Man of Steel and Michael Rosenbaum is the Lex Luthor. There were also several strong female leads, a surprise given when the show was produced. 

Smallville had a lengthy run, kicking off in 2001 before wrapping up in 2011 following a memorable 10 seasons (which somehow didn't see Clark Kent take flight and suit up until the final episode). Still, fans were left eager for more and eventually got a comic book sequel detailing the hero's early adventures as Superman. 

There never were any spin-offs - it's easy to imagine things being different had the show been produced today - but we did come close to seeing an episode revolving around a "female Justice League."

Owing to this, since Jack Reacher avoids committing to long-term relationships in the books, the show introduces a new love interest for him in every new season.

Since this approach allows the series to be loyal to the original books, it perfectly captures how Lee Child intends to portray Jack Reacher's transient lifestyle. However, it has a minor drawback: beloved characters like Roscoe Conklin are often written out only after one season. Despite the downside, it seems unlikely that Reacher season 3 will mark Roscoe's return. But, as Lee Child's Persuader suggests, season 3 will feature her new replacement.

More than a decade after Smallville came to an end, many DC fans are still imagining what Tom Welling's Superman and his Justice League could look like today. With a Smallville sequel potentially having a chance to come to fruition, this revival wouldn't only open the doors for Welling's Clark Kent to continue, but also for many of the Justice League characters who entered the series during its original run. While time will tell if a continuation is possible, fans are already picturing what Smallville's Justice League might be like in the modern day.

Reacher fans will soon be able to add the latest season of the Prime Video action series to their physical media collection. Paramount has revealed that Reacher Season 2 will be released on 4K Uhd, Blu-ray, and DVD this September.

Per Collider, Reacher Season 2 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD by Paramount Home Entertainment on Sept. 17, 2024. The series will also be available on 4K Uhd, but only as a manufactured-on-demand option. The release will feature all eight episodes from the sophomore season on two discs. Alan Ritchson headlines Reacher Season 2 as its titular former military police officer/drifter Jack Reacher, with Maria Sten, Serinda Swan, Shaun Sipos, Ferdinand Kingsley, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Robert Patrick also starring. After saving love interest Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan) from dropping mid-air out of a helicopter, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) — while strapped to a gurney and with a knife stuck in his arm — goes to retrieve Langston and deliver him the same fate that had been handed to many of our series hero’s friends: being thrown out of a flying aircraft.

The scene was rewarding to viewers of Prime Video’s action-packed hit series. And it turns out that scene was also one of the highlights for Reacher showrunner Nick Santora. Santora doesn’t make light of how much he is a fan of both author Lee Child’s books (the source material for the series) and his lead actor, Ritchson.
