‘Q&A’ to return to Screen Forever
The ABC’s Q&A panel will return to Screen Producers Australia’s Screen Forever on November 20 to debate the big issues facing the screen industry.

Convened exclusively for the conference and not for broadcast, the forum hosted by Virginia Trioli will include audience questions and a live Twitter feed.

The event is expected to reflect a diverse range of views as a safe space to query the status quo and respectfully debate differences, according to Spa.

The panel will comprise Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, inventor and futurist Dr Jordan Nguyen, actor Brooke Satchwell, Think TV CEO Kim Portrate, Token Group MD Kevin Whyte and FremantleMedia Australia/New Zealand CEO Chris Oliver-Taylor.

Spa CEO Matt Deaner said: “This year’s panel will no doubt proffer opinions as to the future of screen content – the role of Vr and related technologies, the outlook for content quotas and the power of existing and new platforms.

ABC journalist Virginia Trioli will host the Q&A panel at Screen Forever..

For the second year in a row, Screen Producers Australia will host a presentation of the ABC.s.Q&A at the Screen Forever conference in Melbourne..

The panel will be hosted by ABC journalist Virginia Trioli, and examine the contemporary media landscape and the key issues facing Australian and international producers.

The session is specifically designed for the Screen Forever audience of producers, distributors, financiers and media executives, and is not for broadcast. It will include audience questions and interaction and a live Twitter feed.

Sarah Ferguson's domestic violence series hits home
Journalist Sarah Ferguson will examine domestic violence in a two-part documentary series - Hitting Home - to air on ABC on November 24-25.

The In Films production will see Ferguson move into a women's refuge in search of answers.

Ferguson has also gained access to courts and safe rooms, domestic abuse programs in prison, forensic doctors and specialised police units for the series, which took six months to make.

Ferguson said she wanted to find out how domestic violence worked.

"Why men — and it is largely men — do it, and why their partners find it so hard to leave," she said..

"These are gripping, sometimes heartbreaking, stories of women and children caught up in extraordinary situations..

"Their courage in speaking out took my breath away..
