Cult cinema veteran J.R. Bookwalter returns to the director’s chair after over 20 years with Side Effects May Vary.

The ripped-from-the-headlines indie sci-fi horror film is a send-up to ’70s monster movies like The Incredible Melting Man.

Currently available on Digital, Side Effects May Vary infects Blu-ray on March 11 via Tempe Video.

In recent months, Bookwalter has been on tour with his new sci-fi horror comedy Side Effects May Vary, bringing it to 35 theatres across the United States (plus a pair of festival screenings in Canada and Germany)… and now it’s time for Side Effects May Vary to come to home video! A handful of familiar faces in the world of indie horror have joined forces for the upcoming Bunker Heights, a genre-bending film that’s currently in the post-production stage.

“Bunker Heights is a genre-bending farce that delves into the complexities of a troubled city facing a catastrophic crisis,” an official statement previews. “Blending elements of crime, horror, and dark comedy, the film offers a gripping narrative that follows the lives of its citizens as they navigate the looming threat that jeopardizes their very existence.”

Written and directed by Drew Fortier under the production of Hannah Fierman, the film boasts special effects crafted by Deryk Wehrley, alongside cinematography courtesy of Gordon Cameron (Her Name Was Christa).
