The new horror movie from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, Him will release in theaters on September 19, and Empire Online has shared a brand new image this week.

The director of Him is not Jordan Peele but rather Justin Tipping (Kicks), and Tipping explains to Empire Online that while the film may initially seem like a typical sports movie, it ultimately devolves until a full-throated nightmare of an experience.

Tipping tells the outlet, “My instinct was to set it up in a way that it feels like we’re in Friday Night Lights, or a Gatorade or Nike ad. We’re rooting for the kid who just needs to unlock one thing to take it to the next level. And then we subvert the expectations and let it become Nosferatu or Ex Machina.”

“And let it evolve or devolve — depending on your sensibilities — into something it’s not,” Tipping continues.

Oscar-nominated movie star Timothée Chalamet may have graduated from high school 12 years ago, but he came back recently to pay a visit during his alma mater’s career day. The A Complete Unknown star, who graduated in 2013, returned to New York City’s Fiorello H. Laguardia High School to speak with students in a Career Management class there. This follows his recent Oscar nomination for A Complete Unknown, which was his secont Best Actor nomination after he was up for Call Me by Your Name in 2018.

Genre filmmakers Eli Roth and Jordan Peele both have new horror productions coming our way. Earlier this month, Roth launched a new media company called The Horror Section (which is open to genre fans joining in as investors), with plans to produce movies, TV shows, games, podcasts, and more. Back in 2022, Get Out, Us, and Nope writer/director Peele‘s production company Monkeypaw Productions acquired the genre film pitch Goat from writers Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the plan being that Peele would be producing Goat as part of Monkeypaw’s overall deal with Universal Pictures. The sports-related horror project made its way through production under the title Him last this year, aiming for a September 19, 2025 release date. Marlon Wayans is set to star in horror movie Goat from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, and Deadline reports today that Julia Fox (Uncut Gems) will also star.
