In addition to music Polly Jean Harvey also enjoys writing poetry, sculpting, and acting. She has said that if she ever stops making music she would like to try her hand at acting as a profession.

I can only try and reflect the things that it makes dark inside of me and sad, that will come out, but it will come out in a different way other than not just talking in a political fashion.

I did photography, painting, and drawing, but I prefer sculpture. I like it because it's very physical.
