Peter O'Toole said on his commentary for the DVD version of La clase dirigente (1972) that Green was very depressed during filming, and he believes his death was probably a suicide.

During the time Nigel Green served in the Korean conflict, he sustained a head injury which required the insertion of a metal plate at the front of his skull.
