BBC's raunchy comedy Manchild has been adopted by ABC and Touchstone Television. The network and the studio are developing a U.S. version of the hot British show, often referred to as "the male answer to Sex and the City" with the original series' creator-writer-producer Nick Fisher attached to write and executive produce and its producer Linda Seifert on board as producer. Manchild centers on four 49-year-old male friends in the midst of their midlife crises who speak their minds on a wide range of topics, but most of all sex. Ray Burdis, Anthony Head, Don Warrington and Nigel Havers (who also narrates) star in the original series, which premiered in the United States on BBC America this summer to strong reviews. ABC has given a premium script commitment to the project, which had piqued the interest of least one other network.
