Antonio Banderas (photos) persuaded his wife Melanie Griffith (photos) to check into drug rehabilitation to try and beat her addiction to painkillers. Friends of the movie star couple say Banderas has been Griffith's strongest source of support throughout her ordeal - and the reason she plucked up courage to seek help for her addiction. A pal says, "Checking into a hospital to get off pain pills is really a terrifying ordeal for Melanie. She never would have done it without Antonio's loving support." And Banderas was there to hold Melanie's hand as he helped her check into the rehab ward at Daniel Freeman Hospital in Marina Del Ray, California. A pal says, "He gave her a long hug and a kiss and whispered, I'm so proud of you. Then Melanie, accompanied by a friend, walked in shaking and crying as Antonio Drove away." But friends say Griffith isn't finding her rehab an easy ride - and has already had several bust-ups with the nurses, with a fellow patient noting she'd rowed with a nurse over sleeping during the day. The patient says, "Melanie told the nurse, 'I'm paying $1, 500 a day. I can take a nap when I want to.' I heard her cussing up a blue streak!"...
