M. David Melvin

M. David Melvin is an Asian American director of mixed-race decent. He's half Chinese and half "Pupu platter" of English, Dutch Jew, Cherokee, Black Foot, and scraps of Irish and French. Melvin's experience growing up a huge Asian immigrant family, while also being part of the fastest growing group in America (i.e. multi-racial people of color) gives him a unique perspective on race and culture, which he prefers to express through social satire.
