5 Best Terry Crews Moments From Brooklyn Nine-Nine To Look Back On
Image
Memorable Terry Crews Moments ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

It may have been a few years since Brooklyn Nine-Nine went off air, but Sergeant Jeffords aka Terry Crews still has a special place in the hearts of fans. The extremely built, kind-hearted police officer was the definition of a gentle giant, strong and vulnerable in equal measure.

Here are 5 instances that make Crews as Terry Jeffords so iconic in our hearts. 1. Terry Gets Called Out by a Police Officer Because He’s Black Episode: Season 4, Episode 16 – Moo Moo Director: Maggie Carey Writer: Phil Augusta Jackson

Known for its tendency to cover somewhat serious topics, Brooklyn Nine-Nine addresses racial profiling by the police in this episode. Crews delivers a nuanced and sensitive performance as he attempts to demand an apology from the officer who accosted him. The scenes with Andre Braugher’s Captain Holt are particularly affecting as it seemed as though the...

Keanu Reeves’ Ethnicity Makes His Underrated Thriller Even Better That Deserves a John Wick Style Franchise
Image
David Ayer‘s Street Kings (2008) may not be the most famous movie in Keanu Reeves’ oeuvre, but it is one of his best and most underrated works to date. However, what makes it even better is his mixed ethnicity, specifically Native Hawaiian, Chinese, and Portuguese ancestry [via IMDb], which saves the film from being trapped in an age-old Hollywood stereotype, i.e., featuring a white male actor in the role of a hero and savior.

Moreover, the film’s over-the-top action sequences and lone hero on a path of vengeance make it a solid precursor to Reeves’s John Wick saga, giving Street Kings a good reason to deserve the franchise treatment from Hollywood.

In this adrenaline-infused cop drama littered with moments of typical street bravado and badge lingo, Street Kings refuses to be boring for even a minute with its constant testosterone-fueled sequences of action and suspense.

Keanu Reeves Saves...

America’s Got Talent Season 20 truly lived up to its name last night, serving up its eighth round of auditions that Simon Cowell himself declared “one of the craziest days” in a long time. From gravity-defying feats to jaw-dropping artistry and a few head-scratching moments, the stage was a whirlwind of unpredictable talent, culminating in a memorable AGT Golden Buzzer moment. Judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell, along with host Terry Crews, were certainly kept on their toes.

As AGT fans know, the path to stardom begins with at least three “yes” votes from the judges. But the real game-changer? That coveted AGT Golden Buzzer, which propels an act straight to the live shows. Last night, someone earned that golden ticket in a truly unforgettable way.

The Acts That Stunned & Surprised:

America’s Got Talent’s One Act Surely Made Mel B and Sofia Vergara Wish They Stayed Seated
Image
Two muscular participants had America’s Got Talent judges Mel B and Sofia Vergara genuinely rattled after pulling them on stage for a stunt that quickly turned dangerous. The men in question, Darien Johnson and Scott Mathison, turned the entire set into a gym and began tossing massive barbells, not just between themselves but over the heads of the two judges as well. Both Mel B and Vergara looked visibly anxious as the weights flew dangerously close.

They clung to each other, choosing not to move as the act played out. After Johnson and Mathison completed six successful passes, the judges were relieved to go back to their seats, wishing they had remained seated in the first place. As they walked, the Modern Family star, as per EW, added “so scary,” and Mel B followed her by saying “Oh my god. What you do is proper. Fit and hot.”

After this,...

The Expendables Movies Ranked
Image
When I turned 15, I developed a sudden compulsion to watch every 1980s and '90s action movie I could get my hands on -- not just the "Rambo" and "Terminator" films or the "RoboCop" and "Predator" movies, but also "Die Hard," "Commando," "TimeCop," and even "Cobra." The campier, the better. So, you can imagine what a delight it was to learn that the stars of all these ridiculous classics were joining forces for a throwback action flick in 2010.

I loved "The Expendables" then, and I love "The Expendables" now, but let's be honest; The franchise has been bad as often as it's been good. And even when it's good, it's that roll-your-eyes-and-laugh kind of good. Daring? Certainly. It takes a certain brazenness to throw Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Chuck Norris into a blender so many years...

Terry Crews on His Favorite Brooklyn 99 Cold Open: “Never ceases to make me laugh”
Image
On the topic of Brooklyn 99, it’s always a treat to talk about the lovable Terry Crews when he tells stories about working on the show. During a May 2018 interview with Variety (reported by Vulture), the star revealed that out of all the cold opens the show had, the one from the episode titled The Night Shift was his personal best. Crews said:

“Jake has just returned from his undercover operation in Florida and has ‘frosted tips’ on his hair and we all hate it, so we stage an intervention at Shaw’s bar so we can cut them off. Charles enters the bar and his tips are also frosted, as he announces he and Jake are ‘Tip Buds.’ They scream, ‘Nooooooo!’ together when they realize once Jake gets his tips cut, they’ll be ‘Tip Buds’ no longer.

Then Jake sees how bad it really is on Charles...

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Star Recalls Creating The Show's Greatest Dynamic With The Late Andre Braugher
Image
Brooklyn Nine-Nine features great character dynamics throughout its eight seasons, and one star recently recalled creating one of the best bonds of the show with the late Andre Braugher. Braugher played the serious but lovable Captain Holt in the NBC sitcom. He passed away in 2023, but his legacy remains with both fans of his work and his co-stars.

And Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg reflected on his time working with Braugher in an interview with People. The upbeat and lighthearted personality of Samberg's Jake Peralta created the perfect contrast to Braugher's police captain, delivering plenty of comical moments on-screen.

According to Samberg, the actors clicked instantly at their first table read, which explains a lot:

"Our dynamic worked immediately. It was like one of those things where you’re just like, ‘Okay, this is kismet.' I don’t know how to explain it."

It's clear that the Brooklyn Nine-Nine...

Andy Samberg Reflects on Andre Braugher’s Legacy and Their Unmatched On-Screen Chemistry
Andy Samberg
Andy Samberg says every table read of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” reminded him how rare his connection with Andre Braugher was—an ease he now misses “a lot,” he told Amy Poehler during a new episode of her podcast “Good Hang.” Braugher, who died from lung cancer in December 2023, played stoic Captain Raymond Holt opposite Samberg’s impulsive detective Jake Peralta across the comedy’s 2013-2021 run.

Asked what worked behind the scenes, Samberg recalled their first table read: “He walked in, we said hello, and the rhythm clicked in the first scene.” He praised Braugher as “deeply moral and kind and pleasant and smart,” adding that the cast “absolutely loved him.”

The friendship deepened as Braugher—best known for hard-edged drama—experimented with comedy. Though initially unsure of his timing, he quickly mastered deadpan deliveries that became a hallmark of the series, Samberg said, remembering crew reactions when Braugher “flipped the switch” for serious moments.

The Worst Movie of Eddie Murphy's Career Is a Surprise Streaming Hit

Though comedic legend Eddie Murphy has given audiences many reasons to laugh throughout his four-plus decades in Hollywood, he has many notable duds on his extensive CV. One stands out like a sore thumb above the rest in the 2007 comedy, Norbit, though it's been getting the thumbs up lately from Paramount+ subscribers in an unlikely resurgence.

Via Flix Patrol, Norbit is on Paramount+'s top 10 movie chart in the U.S. The panned Murphy film is a surprise entrant at #9 on the streaming service's chart, joining a list that includes a much more regarded 2000s film in Mean Girls, Tom Cruise's action thriller, Top Gun: Maverick and the recently-released crime thriller, Novocaine, which is in the top spot.

What Is Norbit About, And Why Is it Hated?

Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Andy Samberg Remembers 'Good Person' Andre Braugher
Image
Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher formed a great comedy partnership on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Braugher shockingly passed away in 2023, and now Samberg is sharing his memories of working with Braugher.

Samberg spoke about his relationship with Braugher with other comedians. He made the comments on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, via Entertainment Weekly. Poehler said of Braugher, "I never had the pleasure of meeting him, he seemed like he was just playful and fun,” to which Samberg answered, “He was, and just a good person," before going more in-depth.

Braugher played Captain Raymond Holt, a police captain who takes Samberg's Jake Peralta under his wing and forms an almost father-son-like relationship with him. Samberg described him to Poehler as “so deeply moral and kind and pleasant and smart,” before saying, “We all absolutely loved him. I miss him a lot.”

The 6th Day (2000) – What Happened to This Sci-Fi Action Movie?
Image
It may be hard to remember today with all we’ve been through as a people in the last twenty-five years, but back in the late 90s and early 2000s, cloning was a scorching hot news topic. Though we don’t agree on mostly anything these days, back then there were legitimate reasons for vehement opinions on both sides as the ability to clone pets and humans began to feel eerily reachable. Naturally, Hollywood stepped in to do what Hollywood does. They gave us a humorous but sneakily deep-thinking Sci-Fi/Action flick about all of the discourse surrounding cloning, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. And he almost died making it. This is the story of what happened to The 6th Day.

When husband/wife writing duo Marianne and Cormac Wibberley sold the second script they’d written together to Disney to break onto the scene, they were shocked by how quickly they...

Golden Buzzers & Big Moments Heat Up ‘AGT’ Season 20’s Auditions
Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, Mel B, Terry Crews, and Simon Cowell in America's Got Talent (2006)
America’S Got Talent — “Auditions” Episode 2004 — Pictured: Astrid Jorgensen — (Photo by: Trae Patton/NBC) Tuesday night on America’s Got Talent Season 20 was a real blast. It was packed with all sorts of acts, including some based on AI that had judges and audience members alike scratching their heads in amazement. The fourth round of auditions led up to a “Golden Buzzer” moment that left a certain Englishman from the ’70s with egg on his face. In the current season, the format remains customary: an act goes through on three “yes” votes from the judges. But the big game-changer this time around is the newly coveted Golden Buzzer, a ticket straight to the live shows that any judge or host Terry Crews can award for a truly exceptional performance. So far, we’ve seen some big moments: Simon hit the buzzer for immersive artists Light Wire in Episode 1, and Howie Mandel backed musician Jourdan Blue.

‘America’s Got Talent’ recap: Mel B comes out as allergic to cat acts and says ‘No’ to 5 in a row
Image
America’s Got Talent Season 20 continued Tuesday night with the fourth two-hour edition of its auditions episodes featuring a cat dance crew and cat rapper that annoy Mel B, a light show juggling act, A.I. magic, and another quick-decision Golden Buzzer selection that leaves Simon Cowell disappointed he didn't get there first.

This season's competition follows the same format that AGT fans are used to. In the auditions phase, an act needs at least three "yes" votes from the judges to advance. If a judge or Terry Crews believes an act is exceptional they can hit the Golden Buzzer to award them an automatic bid to the final rounds.

In Episode 1, Simon gave immersive artists Light Wire his Golden Buzzer and Howie Mandel gave musician Jourdan Blue his. In Episode 2, Mel snuck in a press of the Golden Buzzer for the Messoudi Brothers ahead of Sofia Vergara who also wanted to hit it for them.

America’s Got Talent‘s latest Golden Buzzer win comes with an important lesson: “Age ain’t nothing but a number!”

Tuesday’s episode, the fourth week of Season 20 auditions, introduced viewers to the Funkateer Dancers, a group of four friends who first came together to perform in their high school talent show in 1980. They stuck together for a few years, performing at theaters and outdoor concerts whenever possible, but they began to put their dancing dreams aside as they got older and became fathers.

Alan Cumming would be the 4th person to repeat in Best Reality Host: See fresh Emmy odds
Image
To date, Jeff Probst (Survivor), Jane Lynch (Hollywood Game Night), and RuPaul Charles (RuPaul's Drag Race) are the only people to win the Best Reality Host Emmy at least twice in a row. But a fourth contender could soon be joining their esteemed list.

Alan Cumming (The Traitors) is the clear frontrunner in Gold Derby's predictions to claim his second consecutive host trophy. He also won as a producer last year when The Traitors prevailed for Best Competition Program. Cumming plays a heightened version of himself on Peacock's reality TV show, someone who oozes camp and gets excited every time a murder takes place inside his luxurious Scottish castle. Could The Traitors exist in a world without Cumming? Yes. But it wouldn't be nearly as fun. In addition to his two Emmys, the performer is also a double Tony winner for Cabaret and A Strange Loop.

Next in line is RuPaul,...

Deep Cover is the latest original movie from Prime Video. McCounaughy, who has been at the forefront of Hollywood’s riches since his rise to stardom, confessed about his traumatic teen experiences and how he didn’t let those experiences define his sense of trust.

‘America’s Got Talent’ EPs Simon Cowell and Sam Donnelly Tease Mel B’s Return for Milestone Season 20, New Behind-the-Scenes Moments
Image
Even after 19 seasons of hosting “America’s Got Talent,” Simon Cowell’s biggest fear is not dissimilar from the concerns of a producer getting a freshman show up and running: “What if no one shows up?”

“You end a great year and then the second it ends, I get a pit with my stomach,” Cowell told TheWrap. “What if no one shows up this year? What if they’re not interested? What if they’re not very good? You always have to believe that you can find better people, more interesting people.”

That initial doubt is shared by executive producer Sam Donnelly, who joined “America’s Got Talent” as a showrunner and executive producer in 2013. “Every time you start a new season, there’s that horrible dread that, ‘What if we don’t find all of those people?'”

To Cowell and Donnelly’s relief, a fresh flock of talented contestants keep...
