Two muscular participants had America’s Got Talent judges Mel B and Sofia Vergara genuinely rattled after pulling them on stage for a stunt that quickly turned dangerous. The men in question, Darien Johnson and Scott Mathison, turned the entire set into a gym and began tossing massive barbells, not just between themselves but over the heads of the two judges as well. Both Mel B and Vergara looked visibly anxious as the weights flew dangerously close.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine features great character dynamics throughout its eight seasons, and one star recently recalled creating one of the best bonds of the show with the late Andre Braugher. Braugher played the serious but lovable Captain Holt in the NBC sitcom. He passed away in 2023, but his legacy remains with both fans of his work and his co-stars.

Andy Samberg says every table read of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” reminded him how rare his connection with Andre Braugher was—an ease he now misses “a lot,” he told Amy Poehler during a new episode of her podcast “Good Hang.” Braugher, who died from lung cancer in December 2023, played stoic Captain Raymond Holt opposite Samberg’s impulsive detective Jake Peralta across the comedy’s 2013-2021 run.

Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher formed a great comedy partnership on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Braugher shockingly passed away in 2023, and now Samberg is sharing his memories of working with Braugher.

Samberg spoke about his relationship with Braugher with other comedians. He made the comments on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, via Entertainment Weekly. Poehler said of Braugher, "I never had the pleasure of meeting him, he seemed like he was just playful and fun,” to which Samberg answered, “He was, and just a good person," before going more in-depth.

The 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took over the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Saturday. The annual slime-filled celebration, hosted by singer Tyla and featuring performances by Machine Gun Kelly and Katseye, included appearances by Jack Black, Auliʻi Cravalho, Benny Blanco, Terry Crews, Ice Spice, and Sza.

Before getting thoroughly gooed, Black was honored with a blimp and named the King of Comedy in recognition of his career. Ice Spice, Brie Garcia and Auli’i Cravalho are just a few of the celebrities in attendance at the awards show, which is airing Right Now on Nickelodeon!

Tyla is serving as the host this year for the first time.

The KCAs put “kids and families in control at the biggest party of the summer with exciting star-studded collaborations, legendary skateboarding stunts, the latest in music with high-energy dancing, and Nickelodeon’s signature orange blimp trophy and epic slimings.”

Nickelodeon celebrated the year in pop culture on Sunday with the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards.

Hosted by Tyla, the awards show featured performances by Machine Gun Kelly and Katseye, as well as skateboarding stunts by Tony Hawk and Katelyn West, and several slimings at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

The nominations were led by Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Selena Gomez, with four each, followed by Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson and Jelly Roll, with three a piece.

Saturday’s awards show also featured appearances from Malia Baker, benny blanco, Kylie Cantrall, Auli’i Cravalho, Terry Crews, Young Dylan, Brie Garcia, Maia Kealoha, Salish Matter, Kel Mitchell, Daniella Monet, Renee Montgomery, Victoria Monét, Leon Thomas and Alex Warren.

It was packed with all sorts of acts, including some based on AI that had judges and audience members alike scratching their heads in amazement. The fourth round of auditions led up to a “Golden Buzzer” moment that left a certain Englishman from the ’70s with egg on his face. In the current season, the format remains customary: an act goes through on three “yes” votes from the judges. But the big game-changer this time around is the newly coveted Golden Buzzer, a ticket straight to the live shows that any judge or host Terry Crews can award for a truly exceptional performance. So far, we’ve seen some big moments: Simon hit the buzzer for immersive artists Light Wire in Episode 1, and Howie Mandel backed musician Jourdan Blue.

America’s Got Talent Season 20 continued Tuesday night with the fourth two-hour edition of its auditions episodes featuring a cat dance crew and cat rapper that annoy Mel B, a light show juggling act, A.I. magic, and another quick-decision Golden Buzzer selection that leaves Simon Cowell disappointed he didn't get there first.

This season's competition follows the same format that AGT fans are used to. In the auditions phase, an act needs at least three "yes" votes from the judges to advance. If a judge or Terry Crews believes an act is exceptional they can hit the Golden Buzzer to award them an automatic bid to the final rounds.

In Episode 1, Simon gave immersive artists Light Wire his Golden Buzzer and Howie Mandel gave musician Jourdan Blue his. In Episode 2, Mel snuck in a press of the Golden Buzzer for the Messoudi Brothers ahead of Sofia Vergara who also wanted to hit it for them.

Tuesday’s episode, the fourth week of Season 20 auditions, introduced viewers to the Funkateer Dancers, a group of four friends who first came together to perform in their high school talent show in 1980. They stuck together for a few years, performing at theaters and outdoor concerts whenever possible, but they began to put their dancing dreams aside as they got older and became fathers.

In the clip, Cole, 23, sang "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay while playing the guitar and accompanied by his mother, Judy, on the cello. Cole explained that a big reason that he pursues music is his mom.

Even after 19 seasons of hosting “America’s Got Talent,” Simon Cowell’s biggest fear is not dissimilar from the concerns of a producer getting a freshman show up and running: “What if no one shows up?”

“You end a great year and then the second it ends, I get a pit with my stomach,” Cowell told TheWrap. “What if no one shows up this year? What if they’re not interested? What if they’re not very good? You always have to believe that you can find better people, more interesting people.”
