Vision Quest is an upcoming Disney+ series that continues the story of White Vision following the events of WandaVision.

Filming has reportedly just wrapped, and the show (currently without an exact release date) is expected to premiere in 2026.

No one ever stays dead for long in multi-billion-dollar movie franchises, and the latest MCU rumor is supporting that point. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen its fair share of villains come and go, and come back again. Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is the standout example, while Thanos (Josh Brolin) also returned from the dead via time-travel, and even Ant-Man's Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) returned in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania — though that movie is best left forgotten. After years of development, and four years after the release of WandaVision, the VisionQuestseries finally appears to be moving ahead, and it may have found its villain in an MCU veteran character. Avengers: Age of Ultron saw the titular team fight the sentient AI program created by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). But Ultron's (James Spader) time in the MCU might not be over, and VisionQuest will make a major change to the Marvel Comics character.

There have been a lot of Vision leaks as of late, but the latest sheds some light on how the series ends. It's a new era for Marvel Television now that Kevin Feige and company are back to focusing on quality over quantity, and it seems the studio is taking its time in figuring out how this show fits into wider plans for the MCU.

Daniel Richtman has proven himself a reliable source for Vision intel, and now reports that multiple endings are being tested for the series. 

One option for the finale features Billy Maximoff and Ghost Agatha, while another would focus on the return of Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch.

We'd imagine it will ultimately boil down to what works best for the story and where in the MCU release calendar Vision eventually falls.

One long-rumored cast member of the upcoming Vision Quest series may not be a part of the series after all. The project has been in development since October 2022 and is the second spin-off of WandaVision, which premiered in 2021. The first spin-off, released last year, was Agatha All Along, starring Kathryn Hahn. The show will pick up Vision's story from WandaVision, in which he fought a version of himself that helped him to restore his memories after being used as a weapon by S.W.O.R.D. With its central premise surrounding artificial intelligence, a rumor had been circulating that Kerry Condon, who voices F.R.I.D.A.Y. (Iron Man's AI), will get a body of their own in the series. Now, Condon herself has commented on the possibility.

While walking the red carpet for the premiere of F1, Condon stated that the rumor was not true.

"It's not true. I saw that and I was like, "Who's saying these things?'," exclaimed the Irish actress. However, she went on to add that she wouldn't say "there's no chance" it could happen "but at the moment, it's not in the cards for me."

The initial report came from Daniel Richtman, who is usually right more than he's wrong. To be fair, he was the first to report that Emily Hampshire would be portraying E.D.I.T.H. in Vision, a report that was later confirmed by Deadline.

It's said that Vision travels to Madripoor in search of his memories and humanity, only to encounter Ultron in human form. The story unfolds from there, but what does this tell us about where this series is going? Based on this and other recent revelations, we can make some assumptions.

Marvel Studios is finally about to introduce a villain for Paul Bettany's Vision in Disney+'s WandaVision sequel, Vision Quest. The synthezoid has been a recurring hero in the MCU for over 10 years since Avengers: Age of Ultron. But, as Bettany's hero has usually been relegated to supporting roles, he has never received a supervillain of his own. Even in WandaVision, in which he was the co-lead, most of the conflict was between Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff and Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness, as well as Sword.

Bettany will finally take Vision solo in 2026 with Disney+'s Vision Quest, which is bringing back several familiar faces (and voices) from MCU history. Most notably, Vision Quest will see James Spader reprise Ultron, who was arguably the closest thing Vision ever got to a nemesis but is, ultimately, more of an Avengers villain.

Spiner said that “it could still happen” and touched on Picard Season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas’ idea of a spinoff that would feature Jeri Ryan’s Captain Seven of Nine. Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire has been cast in Marvel’s upcoming Vision series. She is set to play a key role in the Disney+ show alongside Paul Bettany, who reprises his role from WandaVision.

Emily Hampshire is known for playing Stevie Budd in Schitt’s Creek, but she has also starred in Chapelwaithe and more recently Prime’s thriller The Rig.

According to Deadline, Hampshire is set to play E.D.I.T.H., Tony Stark’s augmented reality security and defense system. This system was created by Stark and given to Peter Parker after his death as it offered access to global satellites and an arsenal of drones and missiles.

Variety has confirmed Daniel Richtman's casting scoop on Schitt's Creek star Emily Hampshire joining the cast of Vision Quest, which is the working title for the miniseries centered around Paul Bettany's fan-favorite android. Hampshire will be playing E.D.I.T.H. in Vision Quest, although it's unclear at this time whether it will be a voice-only role or if she will be embodying the AI as well. E.D.I.T.H. was previously voiced by Dawn Michelle King, an assistant editor on many MCU films, in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Marvel Studios’ spin-off series about Vision has landed “Schitt’s Creek” star Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., the Stark Industries artificial intelligence introduced in 2019’s “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” She joins Paul Bettany, who is reprising his role as the now-reincarnated synthezoid character.

In “Far From Home,” E.D.I.T.H. is presented as a gift that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) bequeaths to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) after Stark sacrifices his life in “Avengers: Endgame.” Peter controls E.D.I.T.H. through a pair of high-tech sunglasses, which he unwittingly gives to the film’s villain, Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), before retrieving them at the end of the movie. The glasses are confiscated after Peter’s identity as Spider-Man is revealed to world, and E.D.I.T.H.’s ultimate fate is left unresolved.

Hampshire is believed to be playing the sophisticated artificial intelligence E.D.I.T.H., Tony Stark’s augmented reality security and defense system. In the MCU, E.D.I.T.H. was originally created by Stark and bequeathed to Peter Parker following Stark’s death. It provides access to Stark Industries’ global satellite network along with an arsenal of missiles and drones.

When Stashwick's casting was first announced, it was reported that he'd be playing an "assassin who is on the trail of the android and the technology he possesses." A character name was not disclosed, leaving it unclear if he'd be playing an existing character from Marvel lore, or an original role created for the show. However, a new report by film industry insider Daniel Richtman claims that Stashwick will be playing the character Paladin. No other details were disclosed, though the name would suggest that Stashwick will indeed play an MCU incarnation of a Marvel Comics character.

The Vision cast has started taking shape in recent days, and after reporting yesterday that Kerry Condon and James D'Arcy are confirmed to reprise their respective roles as F.R.I.D.A.Y. and Edwin Jarvis, we have another update from Daniel Richtman.

He's learned that Todd Stashwick (12 Monkeys) will play Paladin, a mercenary hunting down Vision to steal the technology powering him. Whether he's doing so at the behest of S.W.O.R.D. or another unknown foe remains to be seen.

@MyTimeToShineH, meanwhile, has shared an Avengers: Doomsday update, specifically in regards to Ghost Rider. The leaker writes, "Ryan Gosling is Marvel's top choice for Ghost Rider, the only obstacle is Star Wars: Starfighter. If everything aligns, he'll appear in Doomsday!" We'll see if this pans out.

Over at The Cosmic Circus, Alex Perez says he expects the Champions (a.k.a. the Young Avengers) to assemble in Avengers: Doomsday.

As Marvel Studios' Vision series - which may or may not turn out to be titled "Vision Quest" - continues to round out its cast, we have a very interesting update relating to Tony Stark's former AI assistant.

According to Daniel Richtman, Kerry Condon will appear as F.R.I.D.A.Y. in human form. This isn't the first time the Academy Award-nominated The Banshees of Inisherin star has been mentioned in connection with the Vision show, but we weren't sure if she'd actually appear in live-action or simply add her voice to the character.

Condon voiced Tony's second AI after J.A.R.V.I.S. (Paul Bettany) was transformed into Vision. We have also heard that James D'Arcy will return as Edwin Jarvis in some capacity.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe had plenty of characters back in the Infinity Saga -- just rewatch the portal scene from "Avengers: Endgame" for an instant reminder -- but things have ballooned to truly gargantuan proportions in the Multiverse Saga. The sheer number of independent sub-series and Disney+ shows has made it basically impossible to keep track of everyone, leaving many characters to fall through the cracks for years at a time.

Such has been the case with White Vision (Paul Bettany), the silvery, S.W.O.R.D.-made copy of the red synthezoid who appears toward the end of "WandaVision" and ... well, nowhere else, so far. In the comics, it's a bit easier to juggle dozens of characters at the same time, but Hollywood makes that incredibly difficult with massive budgets and restrictive shooting and production schedules.

For those reasons, more casual MCU fans may have forgotten about White Vision entirely.

In October 2022, it was announced that Vision Quest was in development, with Jac Schaeffer serving as head writer and executive producer. By May 2023, Eileen Shim had joined the series as a writer as well.

However, Schaeffer shifted her focus to Agatha All Along, and now Vision Quest is being led by Terry Matalas. With Matalas at the helm, this marks Marvel’s first new live-action TV series in nearly two years, signaling a shift in their approach to TV production on Disney+.

Previously, Marvel followed a movie-style model with directors and creative leaders in charge, but starting in 2022, they switched to a more traditional TV model, with longer development timelines and writer-producers as showrunners.

The HBO series The Franchise gave a satirical behind-the-scenes look at the making of a film that was part of a larger superhero franchise, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC film universes. Ruaridh Mollica had a recurring role on the show, playing a character named Jaz Cox. HBO ended up cancelling The Franchise after just one season – and now, Mollica is moving on from a project that poked fun at superhero franchises to joining a superhero franchise. Deadline reports that Mollica will be entering the MCU with a role in Marvel’s Disney+ series that is either called Vision or Vision Quest.

Deadline’s sources told them that Mollica will be playing a character named Tucker, but some MCU fans aren’t buying it. The speculation going around is that Mollica will actually be playing an older version of Tommy Maximoff, one of the twin sons Wanda Maximoff...

Deadline reports that The Franchise and Too Rough actor Ruaridh Mollica has joined the WandaVision spin-off as a character named "Tucker."

Though this Tucker might well be a completely different character, previous rumors have suggested that the Vision series will introduce Billy Maximoff's (Joe Locke) brother, who the newly powered-up Wiccan set off to locate alongside "Ghost Agatha" in the season finale of Agatha All Along.

At 25, Mollica is a little older than Locke (21), but he could convincingly play a teenager.

The Vision spinoff, headlined by Paul Bettany, is said to take place after the events in WandaVision where the character made a return after Thanos killed him in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. The new series is believed to follow Vision (Bettany) as he tries to regain his memory and humanity.

Mollica will play a character named Tucker. In addition to Bettany, he joins previously cast James Spader, who reprises his MCU role of Ultron, Todd Stashwick, and Faran Tahir, who will reprise the role of Raza.

Deadline reports that Faran Tahir will return as Raza, the ruthless leader of the 10 Rings terrorist group who targetted Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in 2008's Iron Man. Raza appeared to meet his end at the hands of Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), but it's worth noting that we didn't actually see him die when Stane sent his men into the tent to finish off his former ally.

We have no idea why Marvel is utilizing this particular character for the WandaVision spin-off, but it might have something to do with Stark's involvement in Vision's creation. It's also entirely possible that Raza is dead, and will only appear in flashbacks or as some kind of illusion or construct.
