Stocky, bespectacled New York comic actor with distinctive Brooklyn
tones discovered by Katharine Hepburn while performing in a play at
USC. After she put him into his first film, La costilla de Adán (1949), he went and in cartoons (Don Gato (1961)).
Studied at Brooklyn College and came to Hollywood in 1947 to write for radio and the stage.
Served as AFTRA Los Angeles local president for eight years.
