Come on, people! It is meant to be bad, funny and off the cuff!
Growing up, I caught this one on HBO and didn't realize that it was a slasher film spoof. 43 years later, I still find this movie hilarious. This movie was intended to laugh at itself with deadpan jokes, gags and everything in between.
The cast is awesome in this one, which includes some early appearances of successful actors over a career. Just to name a few:
Candice Azzara, Judge Reinhold, Carol Kane, Paul Reubens, Tom Smothers, Mark McClure, Tab Hunter and Eve Arden (in her last movie ever).
This one also includes several cameos, such as:
Eileen Brennan, Donald O'Connor, Phil Hartman, Godzilla and David Landers
This movie also has lines that I quote on a regular basis and it is not short of funny lines that will make you chuckle.
This movie has the humor of Airplane!, filled with plenty of sight gags, parodies of multiple horror flicks of the day and is just a fun watch that will make you laugh at sheer stupidity. This one is well worth the 1-1/2hr running time if you just check your head at the door and realize that good B Movies do exist.
