I had a huge expectation on this movie from the very beginning.. When I listened the songs & watched the trailer, I thought It's gonna be one of the finest creation of this year. But it can't fulfill my expectation.. The first half was weak. The middle was so strong But last half gone too weak again.. The story could be stronger, 1st meeting of Sid and Aaish was too silly, After getting job, Sid & his fathers conversation was too non realistic and the last & final climax (Though it has no good climax at all) was so abnormal and too bollywoodish.. Konkona was good as always.. And Ranbir.. I never liked him from his 1st movie Sawariya.. But From this time.. He becomes one of my Favorite. He was superb in this movie.. Ayan Mukherjee is really a talented director & another Gem in Indian cinema. But He got a huge break (Dharma production..!! plus a big star cast!!) in his career too early. But he should have done more practice work or experimental work like Short film, experimental film before coming in Bollywood. But no doubt.. He will do better in near future..
One of the best documentary on Liberation war of Bangladesh. A journey of a cultural team of Bangladesh to inspire the Refugees and the Freedom fighters of Bangladesh. The film zeroes into a troupe of musicians traveling through the refugee camps and zones of war during the Liberation War in 1971. The film blends documentary and fictional genres in a musical structure to tell the story of the birth of a nation and the ideals of secularism and tolerance on which it was founded. The filmmakers, Tareque and Catherine Masud, have combined footage of a cultural troupe and their activities, shot by American filmmaker Lear Levin in 1971, with historic footage collected from archives around the world.
This movie is about a Bangladeshi mother (Sara Zaker) and her teenage son who live in UK. They come to their homeland after hearing the sad news of her ex-husband's death. She realized about her homeland and the relation between husband and wife. The son realized about his root, his soul, his motherland and relation between father and son, mother and son. But they could not back to their root. again they went back to UK where they are the 2nd class citizen.
The concept and idea of this movie was really awesome and deep. But the output is really disappointing. It's unexpected from Tareq Masud. The director of Matir Moina.
