Absolutely loved this movie! It's dark and creepy as hell and keeps you guessing. The dark and dreamy, nightmarish scenes get under your skin like the slimy maggots ... ok I will not spoil the surprise. I found this movie mesmerizing! The acting was fantastic and the scenery and quick shots of flashbacks are so vivid and make you want to know more. I can't wait to watch it again so I can pick up on more of the hidden or more obscure parts of the story. This is what more horror movies need to shoot for. Not all horror has to have intense gore and special effects. I can't wait to read more about this director and the original story which was adapted for screen. If this is a book I want to read it!

This movie sucks you in and you're entangled in the web so right you can't breathe! Mothers and Daughters. Fame and jealousy. How does one mothers dream become a generational nightmare? This movie reminds me a lot of Black Swan, with the mother trying to control her daughter, trying to live vicariously through her, although it takes a more fascinating twist. If you are triggered by self-harm you may want to skip this one. But this film is so incredibly well done. The pacing never lets up from the beginning to the end. The acting by the lead is superb, and so powerful. As a mother, we want everything for our daughters. We want them to grow up to be successful and have a better life than we did. But we can't control them without destroying them. It's a fine line between love and suffocation.

Gave this movie a shot last night while scrolling through movies on streaming, not knowing anything about it. Wow! I can't believe this movie doesn't have any reviews on YouTube! This movie is the real lovely, dark, and deep that I have been seeking. It's all about that feeling between your high school graduation and how everything you know is ending and the world feels wonderful and dreadful at the same time. The writing and acting was phenomenal. Much love for this film! It's beautiful, dark, creepy, and stays with you. I'm a big fan of movies that don't explain everything to you, but leave the viewer to make up their own mind about what's happening and why. If you need clarity in your entertainment this one might not be for you. I also appreciate that there were no gratuitous sex scenes.
