Being 17 in 1989 and living under the smoke of Amsterdam, this series has nailed the Zeitgeist for sure. Dancing in Dansen Bij Jansen, the illegal houseparty's in the Silo, it's exactly how it was back then and I really enjoy being thrown back in time. Plus it's a great history lesson, but only in the background, not only about the transfer from disco to house music in the Netherlands and the introduction of extacy, but also about the start of the gay subculture in Amsterdam.
Besides the nostalgia, it's a good series. The characters are lovable and the acting is good.

It's probably a good show, but I got very annoyed by hearing the German voice under the English voice. That was a dealbreaker for me. So I turned it off. Too bad, I normally like these kind of shows.
Being a teenager in the eighties (in Amsterdam), I grew up with Christiane F. All kids my age read the book, mostly because it was on the school booklist, but it was a really popular book too. Everybody knew Christiane F.
This series throws me right back in the eighties. The clothes, the music, the atmosphere. David Bowie was so important to so many people back then. I love how the makers captured it all so well.
I think it deserves more than a 6,3, that is why I gave it an 8.
