The main review of "Monster Pies" on the IMDb page calls it "A few lovely scenes scattered at random through a very clumsy movie" how wrong the reviewer can be, those of us who love our movies be them short or full, do not always look for the complete perfect end product, sometimes a movie filmed with edge takes you closer.
I can assure you "Monster Pies" does take you close and introduces two fine young actors that I honestly Believe we will hear lots more about in the future. Lucas Linehan is what you look for in an up and coming young actor, and he is the complete package, you feel the emotion from him, I have just seen a new short movie he has appeared in titled "Sheets" which is on the Festival Circuit and again he brings out the best in the part he has a lead actor. Tristan Barr the other lead in "Monster Pies" delivers a superb role and demonstrates he has the same talent to go far.
I have to admit liking Australian drama and "Monster Pies2 delivers, I am sure many young people will identify with the part of William (Lucas) the uncertainty we can have when we are young and Mike (Tristan) who delivers his part so different from the role of William, but shows how people do identify often.
A good storyline and well delivered, don't be put off with one review!

It is very rare that I will give a full ten out of ten for a movie but in "Abel's Field" this is so strongly deserved.
A most excellent strong drama something that many of us will identify with the problems that we meet in life and how we cope with them from the eyes of a young guy to an older guy so different but both facing similar situations and able to give support & strength to.
The Producers have adapted the script to well, used an amazing small town in Texas called Thrall all real sets and they all add to delivering a great movie.
But the two leading actors both deliver first class roles, from the older guy Abel played by Kevin Sorbo who many will recognise from his many party to the young guy Seth, Samuel Davis one of the best upcoming young actors that I predict a great future for. Kevin Sorbo may not have a lot to say but he works so well with Samuel Davis as Seth, Samuel really is spot on with his portrayal of Seth a young guy that many will really identify with and one that you will feel for in his position in life that has come his way.
As I started we all look for a second chance so often in life, for that redemption "Abel's Field" is so strong and delivers from start to finish!

R2 release another Christian movie which is ideal for teen and family viewing, great to see it in widescreen and with some great colour work, but watching on DVD as I have done some small problems with the sound at times.
The storyline of a preacher and his family moving to a new small town and the problems their older teen son has in his last year is great develops well, we see Samuel Davis star as the son and he steals the film with a stunning performance, closely matched by a R2 regular Ben Davies, but there were a few wooden performances.
R2 continue to develop and overall "New Hope" is another step forward though as I state a little disappointing in some aspects. I do feel that this will see the start of a great acting career for Samuel Davis a name to watch out for.
