Loved the first two movies so like many that reviewed this one here I was - to put it mildly - pretty disappointed.
Firstly, the soundtracks that were so great in the first two are replaced by just annoying noise, I found myself just irritated and distracted, and when the 12 yr old becomes the focal point of the movie then i knew this one my just suck.
It did. It was terrible. The tension and human commentary, the insight to a broken society.... NOT there. Really it's not at all believable, from beginning to end and even the new parts of the film that are interesting really go nowhere. I was always going to see this but it wasn't always gonna cost me $18. PASS!

After that lets invest in some curious off-beat casting and Wallah! We got a movie!
Not a very good movie, mind you - but I have seen worse. The biggest problem is the acting. Martin Lawrence is just excruciating to watch and worse to listen to, he sounds like he is trying to talk with a mouth full of rubber marbles. I spent the movie thinking 'Don't choke Martin!' E-NUN-CI-ATE... I had to flat out laugh out loud when he had to say 'desiccant'. And the female detective wasn't any better, she was like half a notch above Siri. Malkovich was about as scary as my grampa - and he's got Alzheimer's.
But as I said... I've seen worse. If you're going to death scroll with something in the background... I guess. Just keep expectations low.

I hate this phenomena... you're watching a movie and its slowly laying the groundwork of what's happening while creating lots of questions and not many answers. Often (and in this case) I'll say to myself about halfway through 'is this going anywhere?' or 'is there going to be an explanation for any of this...
This in itself isn't uncommon or hate-able to me, but what I do hate is when the writers have spent so much time introducing mystery and then settle for an ending that feels lazily and clumsily thrown together.
This was that movie. It had some promise and could have gone either way, but I found the 'payoff' to be quite lacking. Too bad, it did hold my interest at least.
