The documentary is serviceable but the people interviewed just had me rolling my eyes. Modern people seem to be either ultra thick or severely entitled, unable to cope without basic amenities. When the issues on the boat started I can imagine that it was scary but in the end everyone became insufferable, drunk, argumentative and refused to follow the rules that the crew asked them to do which is why the toilets backlogged.
If society did start to break down they would be the first to shout, complain and be finished off. Damn if the internet went off they would have a breakdown. Modern society is doomed if these are the sort of people that we have to rely on.

This isn't my usual fare but I liked the cast and have always been a fan of Ron Howard so decided to give it a go and I am extremely pleased that I did. A fantastic, based on true events, story with great performances all round, a clever and cohesive tale that draws you in, awesome direction and excellent cinematography. I am also going to single out Sydney Sweeney. She's looked upon as a bit of eye candy in the media but when I have seen her in a film she always puts on a good performance and this is one of her best yet. I like the fact she is willing to not pigeon hole herself and take on a variety of roles. Jude Law is also great. The island settings really give off a feeling of isolation and hardship and Ron Howard's direction let's you feel every sweat stained encounter the characters go through. It was also great to see photos and footage of the real life characters the film is based on during the end credits which shows how much attention to detail was used when making this. In an era when many films are slop filled nonsense this was a genuine surprise and it is well worth watching.
I'm assuming Asylum Films are releasing this 'reboot' of Airplane now because of the forthcoming big budget Naked Gun remake.
We all know that Asylum make low budget mockbusters and over the years have released a plethora of disaster, monster, horror and comedy rip-offs, most of which aren't very good. The Sharknado franchise has probably been their most successful.
Airplane 2025 is set in the 1970's and I was hoping, even with a low budget, that they could produce a mildly entertaining scatterbrain comedy. Unfortunately, this has none of the audio or visual humour of the original films, the script is poor and the acting isn't brilliant. Tom Arnold is the most well known name here and he pretty much sleepwalks his way through his lines.
What you will get is nothing more than a very soft core porn film, with several of the actresses spending most of the runtime topless, simulating sex and smoking weed with stupid sound effects and very annoying and constant music.
It's a shame that they didn't even try to make a comedy that had its heart in the right place. This has been released purely as slop with Asylum knowing that people will see the Airplane title and watch it out of curiosity.
