I don't have a lot to say about this film. Visually, it's fantastic. Good performances all around, especially Lilly Rose Depp and Willem DaFoe.
The script wasn't all it could be. There were some good suspenseful moments, but on the whole it didn't really do much for me. The plot would have been predictable even if I hadn't already known it.
It's worth seeing, mainly for the visuals, and because this movie pushes back against the trend of making vampires cool, sexy, tortured, misunderstood souls. That makes for great romantic drama, but vampires are supposed to be evil, and this film delivers on that.
