This series starts off dealing with the series problem of ageism in the workforce, but quickly morphs into a typical soap opera where many of the events are just too unbelievable. It's kind of like Friends meets Seinfeld, but in this series, characters all sleep with one another and also with anyone who enters their comfy little world. Because there are a few characters, it's kind of done on a rotating basis through the seasons. By the final season, season 7, the story is pretty much hung out to dry, no one cares anymore and the writing becomes rushed as loose ends have to be tied up. Unfortunately, many of the endings are all left open so there is little in the way of closure and few conclusive endings to everyone's story arc. So, a disappointing finish!
This series is a good example of creating content to fill a slot on a streaming platform. It's a poor copy of Ted Lasso. One can see the underlying preachiness and messaging that emerges in parts of the dialog and in character diversity of culture. Much of it seems agenda driven and is unnecessary and unhelpful to the story line. Inevitably, the story and the characters fall flat. Everyone and everything seems to overcome adversity, love one another and all live the " let's all get along and live happily together "! Unfortunately, real life isn't like that. The script is predictable, the characters fall flat and all seem unreal. It's difficult to determine the focus of the movie as the constant preachiness and moral messaging gets in the way. It's content to fill a slot and pass time but nothing special!
This series is completely unbelievable! It is a hot mess of fast moving yet impossible and unbelievable story lines. The script is childish, the editing shows one scene after another with little in the way of context to explain how the characters know exactly how to be in the right place at the right time. Everyone appears to be a hero and the characters, even those with stains on their past, all seem to come together to show they are a Band of Brothers. The fight sequences are filled with bizarre choreography and lots of grunts and groans! The plots are all reminiscent of WW2 morale boosting films, with the main actor as a cross between Superman and Captain America. Despite all the cheesiness, the series is entertaining, probably because of the fast paced action. Just go with the flow if you want to enjoy it!
