What a great and clever take on a really troubling and unbelievable time. A bit awkward at the beginning, and seemingly going in a whole different direction, we were in for a lot of surprises, twists and turns and quite humorous situations. The two leads worked well together and took us on a sometimes hilarious ride. The film did a great job of showing the unfairness and desperation so many people dealt with during the early days of Covid while presenting a very entertaining film. Well worth watching. I found it thought-provoking as well as a very satisfying and interesting viewing experience.

The visuals of this film are outstanding. The costumes are grand and larger than life but are also intricate in their design. Freezing the action is the only way to truly appreciate the vast panoramic eye-candy in this production. Then, there are the locales from LA to Venice, Italy! Just wonderful locations, wonderful set design. A quirky fantasy about being true to yourself and following your bliss, whether it's Bobby staying true to his art, an amazingly photogenic Bobby Love, or Trevor not giving up on his dream of music no matter what life throws at him, sung and played beautifully by Adam Huss. The song in the bar was especially haunting. Not to forget Bonnie Morgan who plays Suzy and Jenny. Aside from the welcome physicality,, she creates excellent characters. The visuals of the film alone make it worth a look.

Dzifa Mallet, the writer, director and star, did an amazing job. I thought this was going to be a totally different film from the beginning scenes. I was pleasantly surprised. It's a story of ego, suffering, hope, redemption, love and forgiveness. The cast was excellent with standouts in the roles of Darnell (Dzifa Mallet)...Estelle/Mom (Missy Lee)...Imani (Brittany Seals). The story was a bit formulaic, but there were some surprises along the way and it was directed and shot in such a way that was very interesting to watch as well as the use of some great locations. The multi-talented Mr. Mallet has a great future.
