You naturally have some changes between print media and a visual media. So I can deal with them changing the characters up a little bit. That isn't the stinker for me. What really needs to be changed to have this show be something is to:
A> Satire is what Discworld was about.
B> Hire a set designer who isn't all over the place. Garage florescent lights, a fire alarm pull station, all this in a fantasy setting.
Discworld has the stuff like the clacks, the picture imps, moving pictures and the like. You could even advance the time a bit (Steampunk, Victorian, whatever) but when you mash all that poop up into a blender without rhyme or reason you're asking to look worse than a first year film school project.
There's so much potential here, and some people will complain no matter what. The spray paint graffiti, the goth ghosts, ect would be a cool bit of satire and lend a bit of "Fantasypunk" feel with the emphasis on punk if it was handled a little better visually and continuity wise.
They seem to be able to spend the money well on some of the fantasy sets but then blow it with a location that would be more fit in a James Bond movie.
In spite of what I find wrong with the first season so far I do want to see a second season. Some times it takes a little bit of time for a show to get on it's feet (TNG didn't get good till season 3 or so).
Some people will hate it automatically just because. I'm willing to give it a chance. It's flawed but has the potential to become something good.

A story like his could only be told through an indy filmmaker. If you, someone you care about, or are friends with someone who is dealing with a serious mental illness parts of this film will get you right where all that stuff lives.
You can break down just about any scene in this movie and enjoy it from a technical standpoint. The writing and acting is top notice as well. When thing come together like there sometimes magic happens and this hits that magic mark.
It's like a chunk out of the character Regi's life. It's not his mom's fault she's sick. It's not his fault he has to take care of her (he does mention he could be an a hole and dump her in some hole but that wouldn't be cool). It's life with someone who is mentally ill without the societal lens on. Mr Brit doesn't seem to pull any punches when it comes to sharing what it is like first hand. It takes a lot of courage to put something personal like that out there to be judged by others via a film.
If you only watch indy films once in a while this is one to catch. Darius Brit's done some short films that are worth checking out as well.

Way to go with an almost 90 year actor trying to be an action star.
The writing, a third grader writing fan fic has a better sense of plot, pacing, and having a conceptual idea... this is the dull poorly written crap that happen when it a script is written by committee.
