On the surface this should have been a decent adventure film, but it just felt so soulless. Krasinski is well cast for it, and plays a likeable leading man, actually most of the cast is allright. But it just feels like a half hearted story full of tropes that pretty much all miss the mark. There wasn't any original ideas really. Just bits and pieces of ideas from other films and stories sort of mashed into a beige consumable pulp that kind of resembles an adventure film. The "Uncharted" movie was a little disappointing but compared to this it was an adventure masterpiece. Fountain goes through the motions and does the things required of it but doesn't try too hard and leaves you whelmed. "Mildly entertaining" in it's better moments.

About once every season the writers come up with a "bodycam" episode where the filming is shown from the perspective of the officers bodycams or shopcam (in car camera). It's gimmicky and annoying and if the user scores for these episodes are anything to go by, unpopular. This episode uses some creative camera options like this but it doesn't ram it down you throat so much, and it actually works quite well this time. Throwing in a few facetime perspective and other things like CCTV surveillance shots, but sparingly, can work! I'm glad to see they've figured out a way to make it less jarring. 11.
