Most of us love the film "Misery" right? Well I am convinced this must be the story of her youth when she was young, beautiful and miserable. She lives for herself only to the point that she only feels better if she hurts others in the process. There was nothing to like about this film and I am a fan of Big Bang Theory. I watched every episode 6 times.
People who enjoyed this film as a comedy don't understand comedy. In Big Bang Sheldon was the exact same character as Hope Greggory except it succeeded when he was humiliated and foiled over and over. This character doles out lots of pain and punishment but there is no comeuppance so no satisfaction for the viewer unless a viewer thinks misery for its own sake is hysterical. Like tipping over someone's wheelchair for a laugh and then when the person's head hits the concrete and he dies, it's the an even bigger laugh for you. For most people that does not work as comedy and it did not work for this film which lost money even though it cost so little to make.
I did enjoy Melissa Rauch's sex scene with a fellow gymnast which was amazing, inspired and funny. Both are totally nude. Unfortunately, the misery theme is soon-after rejoined so we cannot savor it for very long.

Alida Valli is a stunningly beautiful widow who mesmerizes in every scene. But the script is what constantly amazes. There was not one word that was anything but boldly original. Never, ever has there been a courtroom drama so absorbing.
Nothing typical happens in this film. The writing, directing and acting kept me glued to the screen from beginning to end.
Despite 80% of the film being in the courtroom, this drama was electrifying. Pardon my redundancy but I was knocked out by the story. I have never seen anything like it and I don't think there was a single line similar to any other script ever written of the many films I have viewed over the decades. Surprises abound.
My only regret is that anyone reading this review will be expecting too much and will be let down, so please ignore this review.
