Usually I can't stand these types of Christmas movies, but this one actually has a decent script and two leads with...chemistry? Gasp. Not only that but they had personalities and showed realistic signs of human quirks. To top it all off, it wasn't a story about a rich person going back to a small town and learning to love to build snowmen or something, it actually had an interesting storyline. Maybe I'm a fan of home decor instagram, but I'm also a fan of the concept that home decor influencers can be full of hot patootie at times.

A+ transaction IMO.

OH and that baby better be a paid actor, because it tried to steal the scene a few times.

Those who live and breathe for Hill House will probably never like anything as much, including this show.

"Wasn't scary enough!" or "the stories were too long!" are the main complaints I'm seeing. I love Flanagan's monologues, and even though he wasn't the sole writer on this show, I kind of regarded the kids' stories as their own inner monologues. The stories were messy and silly at times; because they were being told by kids.

This is a supremely talented young cast; to me the standouts were Iman and Ruth, but they all did an amazing job.

To me the horror of this series is the single fact that these kids are dying, and we are watching their varying stages of grief/acceptance/whatever. The stories were supplemental.

The cult stuff was a bit wonky at times, but I'm really hoping they get a second season to wrap it up nicely. There are plot points that haven't been resolved yet, so I'm hoping the story continues.

Not sure why some people are rating this so low. This isn't really a "horror" but more of a drama, with great acting. It did feel like it was missing a little spark, but I appreciate that it didn't try to be a goofy jump-scare nonsensical type of movie you can easily find on Netflix.

Great music and I feel like the scenes were carefully crafted; I really enjoyed it. Donald Sutherland and Jaeden Martell had great chemistry and I actually found myself feeling for them and their relationship.

I would have liked just a LITTLE bit more colour into why their relationship extended past death, without going into spoilers, but I'm also ok with never knowing the hows and whys, because the movie itself was an enjoyable watch.

I find it rare to find a suspenseful, tidy little movie like this and I would recommend it to others.
