The beginning started out promising and the acting is superb as what you can expect from A-listers such as Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway. Kinda remind me of Fractured in Netflix as the premise is kinda guessing whether it is the bad guy and the hallucinating side. Sadly, those talents and concept are wasted in what started out as an intriguing story then turns into something dull boring with laughable ending.
There are plot holes here and there alongside with the SUPER PREDICTABLE storyline which makes the thrill gone by the end of the first half. With its 95 mins run time they can actually stretch it a bit and make it into something out of ordinary instead of this rushed B movie kind of story. Don't waste your time in the cinema for this.

As an avid Christie's fan, this review might be biased but they changed so many things from the book which in this case don't sit with me really well. The general premise is similar. The rich Linnet snatched Simon Doyle, the poor Jacqueline's fiancee. They went to Egypt for honeymoon and it ended up in a bloodbath. These changes are generally made to dramatize the movie and to give more tension. They added characters and made so many people somehow romantically linked to someone else, yep even Poirot (which is a very tough sell if you have read all of Poirot's novel). The 2 hours screen time is quite okay, but the transition can sometimes feel forced.
Armie Harmer's acting is the worst thing in the movie. I sat in the cinema beside my brother who knew nothing about the story and he predicted the ending quite early, all thanks to Armie Harmer's horrendous crying. I need to commend Kenneth Branagh and Emma Mackey for those briliant acting. The expressions on their face is potrayed brilliantly and both of them carried the whole movie.
Overral, it's a slick and enjoyable remake which will please and introduce Christie's world to younger generations. If you are an avid Christie's fan, expect a lot of changes from the book (minor spoiler : what I dislike the most is that they change the most prominent characteristic of our fave detective in the end). But if you are general audience who love Kenneth Branagh's Murder in The Orient Express, you'll love this one too!

Expect a lot from the hypes and lots of great reviews, I definitely noticed the beautiful cinematography and visual effects but kinda underwhelmed by super slow story flow. Probably it's just because I haven't read the book (lots of people said you'd enjoy it more when u've read the book). I think it's one of those movie that's made simply to introduce us to the universe. The plot is slow and lots of characters are being introduced then it ends. Definitely a one time watch because 3 hours is not a short time. Expect more to come (and really happen) on Dune 2.
