I have been waiting for this show to arrive. Almost 2 hours after it's release I went to look up a few cast members, and I see 3 reviews, horribly rated. How did you watch 8 hours of show already? I chalk this up to two things. Misogynists or Bosch lovers who can't let go.
I only know Maggie Q from a failed, very decent sitcom...and Bosch.
Elevator Pitch: It's like "The Sandlot" meets "The Shield" with goodness.
Almost every episode, there is a 'sort' of win, for this rag tag team. Some story lines seem too quick and too wrapped up, but over all, this is quite entertaining. So much better than 3/4 of the American made tripe. Maggie Q is wonderful. The whole, "rag tag" team are fantastic. The "tussles" are great as are the police car barricade scenes. So worth it, Don't pay attention to nay sayers.

I think, at first I might have watched this, in the background, and didn't think too much of it until I decided to go through some of Anne-Marie Duffs back catalog.
My gosh, this is absolutely aweful. I agree 100% with most of the bad reviews above. The story makes zero sense. They edited 2 different shows together. One minute she ( Duff) is brought on by the World's Worst DCI (mentor) about a case she was on 12 years ago, and she was basically ousted from the dept because of her thoughts. Neatly ensconced in Scotland, she is brought back. From her beautiful life, with A Great guy and his daughter.
Trails lead nowhere, DCI dude is a mess, and, then the whole story turns into something else. Why Anne-Marie? Why?

From the first few minutes you can tell that this is a quality series. Besides some of the better known cast, it is apparent in the plotting. You don't realize it at first, but the talking head in the side documentary is Sally Wright, from what seems like one of those prison interviews you seeing murder docs or 60 minutes, or such. And then we see Sally before hand in life. The gist is this...Elder statesman Jack Wright is dead. Speculation of suicide turns to murder investigation, where almost everyone seems to have motive for doing so. Jack has a third wife with 2 children (fantastic Sally played by Nikki Amuka-Bird), 2 sons from first wife (excellent John Simm & Daniel Rigby), some in-laws from hell and grandchild Emily. Everyone is vying for a large chunk of his will, which, was re-written 2 weeks prior to his death. In 6 VERY fast moving episodes, just as all the momentum is building, and think we might be near a resolution, we get a To be continued banner. I'm not mad at this. The acting is all top notch. Shout out to Harry Lloyd as the DCI & his partner. This series is smart, funny, sad and I look forward to picking it up when it returns for the finale.
