I wasn't sure how I was going to approach reviewing this steaming pile. So, in the end, I decided I'll just string a bunch of negatives together, because there is absolutely nothing good about this series (and thankfully, I read that there will not be a season two).
Let's start out by saying that it's bad television, and even worse Star Wars. That becomes very evident in the first fight scene when we are treated to Kung Fu Jedis. Lot's of hand to hand and martial arts action, hardly any Star Wars action. Later we get to see our hero Jedis fall all over themselves as they fail to punch their way out of a paper bag when they meet the big badass Sith; but the kung fu action continues, and persists through the entire series. The insults continue with huge plot holes, cringy dialogue, terrible writing; all topped off by a story that was absolutely off the rails, in a bad way.
All that said, I laughed a lot at the totally ridiculous final scene.

I loved the original, so the poor storytelling in this made it that much more disappointing. I didn't even make it through three episodes before I called it quits. First, Daredevil only appears once in the first three episodes. WTF, this is called Daredevil. You're going to take three plus episodes (I assume he enters for real in episode four, but I'll never know) for the series' namesake to don his mantle... pathetic. On top of that, the first three episodes were fairly lackluster; I rated them five, six, and one. The third episode was so infuriatingly bad, that I had to quit about half way through. Utterly disappointed with this.
This is a slow, plodding remake of your typical Damsel NOT In Distress story. I mentioned the NOT because the film's opening sort of harps on it. In reality, this IS a Damsel In Distress movie, just without the time-worn hero.
It seems to take forever to get going, wasting a lot of time trying to lead us down the wrong path when we all know what's really going to happen. Then, once the action starts... it doesn't. We must endure a tedious game of cat and mouse in the caves, which provides our damsel with ample opportunities to demonstrate how "ingenious" she is. The film ends very predictably with our damsel... oh wait, I won't spoil the "big" surprise for you.
On a positive note, the acting was top notch, the CGI was above average, and the costumes fit what they were trying achieve.
All in all, a very mediocre film.
