The synopsis is the most intriguing aspect of this story.
Interesting idea, a good insight into gang influence in the ghettos of London.
It's a two episode story crammed into four episodes of didactic, sluggish, and numbing dialogue while pretending to be a social commentary.
Quite predictable with the usual suspects of red herrings, including police, gang members, and family angst-all of which don't offer any surprises and new takes on old cliches.
The main character's actions are "Oh-my-God" events-how the Hell could she not see this or know that or be so naive?
Ending was just as predictable and mundane.
This tale moves along as fast as a herd of tutors headed to fest upon wilted lettuce.

Don't expect intellectual in-depth philosophical scenes about a simple man wanting to average an injustice.
This film is pure "blood law" in its true Anglo-Saxon/Nordic/Celtic sense.
Bob Odenrick is the perfect "Everyman" living a mundane suburban life, in a bored marriage, and a son who doesn't respect him.
Watching this film reminded me of the great world myths of a wronged man who enlists the aid of the gods (or his secret talents) to help right an injustice.
Good ol' fashion action and fun.

If i were not already a PDK aficionado and had not read all these stories beforehand, I would have found this a most interesting, entertaining, and provocative series.
Well written, well acted, and well photographed, though. The actors make the series palatable.
Still doesn't compare to the original written tales.
Then again, this series exemplifies the difference between the written word of classic writers and the interpretation/repurposing of modern video/imagery cinema masters.
Do recommend the series--but read the original tales as well.
