If the story is less convoluted than that of the Altered Carbon S1 and S2 show,s it nonetheless remains rather deep and interesting, and fits well to the Altered Carbon Universe, while being very compact since this anime has a 70 minutes runtime.

The art style was spectacular in my view. I'm generally not a fan of full CGI anime style, but they seem to have used some kind of cell shading technique here and it looks beautiful.

The action scenes are fast, very dynamic and gripping, and show off how smooth the animation is.

I was entertained and would rate at 75/100.

A lot of negative reviews on IMDB seem to be from people who stopped watching it after Episode 1. It's true that this pilot episode is weird, confusing, and can deter some viewers from ever watching the rest of the show.

It's also a way to pull you into this weird universe by raising many open questions and making you want to get the answers, I suppose, What you need is just a little patience because the show will give you answers progressively in the following episodes and greatly reward your patience by blowing your mind.. (in a nice way)

I will simply tell you that the scenario, the plot, the characters, the direction, the production values, the soundtrack are absolutely fantastic. The casting and the acting are brilliant. The main lead in particular is outstanding.

I am extremely happy to have had the curiosity to watch this film. It is quite rare nowadays to find such a little gem that manages to be clever and funny, without being cheap, gimmicky or silly.

Great entertainment, the way it's meant to be. I would give it 8.5/10 if possible.

As a side note, this was the 2nd Brazilian movie I saw this month (after "Moebius", and maybe the 3rd within the last 12 months (After Elite Squad II), and I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for any movie coming out of Brazil due to quality productions and originality. Do not change anything Brazilian studios!
