This series had eighteen chances to be original and funny and completely failed at both. Contained within is lower than lowest common denominator humour (if you can even call it humour). Overly violent, often misogynistic, sophomoric (sophomoronic?), and completely unfunny and repetitive, you can easily guess the "theme" of each segment. Best described as a one-trick show. The strange thing is the production value is extremely high. Each segment looks and feels cinematic, but even that isn't enough to save this waste of resources, both in front and behind the camera. Frankly, most of the segments were embarrassing to watch. Netflix, you sank to a new low with this series and can't help but wonder if this is a substantial viewer demographic. I hope not.

I was genuinely scared at a few of the scenes in this film, and I don't scare easily. The premise is an interesting one, creepy to the max. We all spend too much time on our devices. There is no substitute for real relationships. The characters are flawed, just like real life, and the film does have some unexpected twists.

The story does build slowly, and those who want instant gratification may become a little bored. True dramatic tension comes from knowing (and seeing!) what's coming, and being horrified by it. There are a few jump scares, but they are earned.

I went in expecting mediocrity based on the IMDB rating, but it's better than 5.7/10.
