I almost skipped this one because of the low IMDb rating-I'm so glad I didn't. Gareth Evans delivers once again. Havoc may have had a troubled production, but what we see now is a fast-paced, brutal action thriller that stands out in a crowded genre. It offers just enough story to set the stage for some of the longest, toughest, and bloodiest action sequences I've seen in recent years.
What really impressed me is that the action has its own unique style. In a time when so many films try to imitate John Wick, it's refreshing to see something that forges its own identity. Evans brings the same raw energy and intensity that made The Raid so memorable, but this time with a slightly different tone and rhythm.
If you're a fan of Gareth Evans' previous work or enjoy hard-hitting, no-nonsense action films like John Wick, Havoc is absolutely worth your time. Just be ready for a relentless ride.

I was really positively caught off guard by this one after watching it despite the low (why?) imdb rating. The filmmakers create a believable world. Someone compared it to Waterworld. And yes, this is the real dark, dirty, muddy version. The plot is strong and done with just the right pacing. Acting, cinematography, production design, score are all good. The movie delivered basically on every level for me. It is a rare find. Maybe I am more forgiving than others when it comes to some (small) logical flaws.
Give this movie a chance. If you are a sci-fi nerd and are open for a well made smaller film there is a good chance you like it.

I don't often write reviews but I have to for this hidden gem. How on earth is this fine slasher film only rated at five stars? Ok, I get it the dialogue in the beginning is stale and the acting just ok. But, the movie doesn't waste much time on the exposition and once it gets going this is one beast of a movie. First of all it has great pacing, there is a continuous flow with lots of small twists and turns. Second, the main villain is fantastic. What a fear inspiring, evil and huge man. One of the best villains in movies like this. Next, the visuals are great. I mean this is a low budget film, but it has lots of cool atmospheric shots. And the gore and violence factor should also satisfy your expectations.
