For some reason I just never cared much for Earnest T. His character was way too childish. I never found him funny at all. But I love the show so much that I watched his episodes anyway. In real life he would have been thrown in jail for busting windows like that. Of course Andy Griffith wasn't real life so it worked for the show but having grown up in the 60's, and having broken a window or 3, they should have shown a bit more punishment in ETB's case.
Something of note regarding this particular episode however is that it was the episode being filmed the day that president Kennedy was shot. They stopped filming until the following week.

I saw this when I was about 12 or so and it kept me entertained throughout. Of course when you're a kid its probably a little easier to be entertained. But I was such a Jerry Lewis fan that basically he could do no wrong in my eyes. He's a comic genius, hands down, no question, so let it be written, so let it be done. There were some funny moments, it just wasn't his BEST work. Not EVERY movie an actor or actress makes can be their best film. But its reasonably funny and it SHOULD be able to be purchased by people who want it!! I would really like to know why it isn't on DVD or VHS! If it were one of his classic gem movies I could maybe understand it but its just an average Lewis film so why can't it be on VHS or DVD so we can get a copy. Some of us like ALL Jerry's stuff! If anyone can answer me regarding this, please do. kctkeller@hotmail.com
OK, the other comments did a great job of covering the story so I wont rehash it. Let me instead tell you the tale of what effect it had on me, a 13 yr old in the summer of 76. I was home alone that Fri. night as my folks always went dancing on Fri's. I began watching it thinking it would be just another Fri. night movie of the week. I could not have been more dead wrong! As the movie progressed, I sank deeper and deeper into fear and I became so scared that I couldn't remove the blanket I was under. I remember being SO hot under that blanket but I dared not move. The sweat poured off my legs and chest like a garden hose! The ending SCARED THEE HOLY EVER LIVING HELL OUT OF ME. I seriously was almost in tears! To top it off, our front door, when shut, would stick. To come in, you had to hit it with your shoulder to open it and it would make a rather loud jolt as it opened. My perfect timing parents chose to come thru that d@#n door just as the credits started to roll and I'm here to tell you that if my heart had been weak at all, I would have met my maker that night! The Jolt of that door put a chill down my spine from the top of my neck down to my ass. I almost blacked out as I recall and thats the closest I've ever come to fainting I do believe. I also had to pee like a Russian race horse so I was just as relieved as I was scared when I saw it was my mother walking in. To this day when anyone asks me, "whats the scariest movie you've ever seen", I always answer "Satans Triangle" without hesitation! The only movie to ever come close to frightening me like that was 5 yrs. later when "The Shining" came out. It scared me pretty bad, but not like this one did!! If you ever get the chance to see it DO IT! It may not have the kind of effect on you as it did on me 31 yrs ago but at least you will know what I mean! If anyone out there has a copy of it, I would LOVE to have it. Email me. GREAT MOVIE!!
