While I wanted to like Age of Extinction, I just couldn't. Why? Because there was NO character development, and the movie was just driven by Michael Bay's signature crash bang boom explosions mayhem. I couldn't find myself having any empathy for the characters as they were just cardboard people running around. I like Mark Walhberg in so many films, yet he wasn't given much of a role to fill here. I was appalled at the amount of cursing in what is supposedly a "kids" movie, and that it had so many curse words not only turned me off, it sickened me to the point that I wonder what's acceptable any more in what a "kids" movie is supposed to be.. The sexual innuendos in all the Transformer movies aren't necessary to drive the plot. Just like the other movies, T: AofE is just a TV commercial drawn out to an almost 3 hour conclusion. I was very surprised to see a movie geared more towards adults with the language and sexual themes than any focus on making it kid friendly. And my understanding is that Mr. Bay is going to make 2-3 more? I won't be taking any of my grand kids to any of them.
Please-If anyone from Universal Studios EVER frequents these boards; it's PAST time for this Tony Randall classic to be released on DVD. Tony Randall and Burl Ives are hilarious, and Barbara Eden sets the stage for her role in I dream of Jeannie. The 60's were a different time for movie studios, and this is indeed a family movie that everyone can enjoy and have fun laughing with. It's a true joy to see Tony Randall who was always a fine gifted actor. Why hasn't Universal ever released this on DVD is beyond me. Universal-you can release every other movie made for over 60 years, why not the Brass Bottle. And folks, write Universal asking them to release this movie from their vaults. Thanks
I LOVE Sandra Bullock-She's one of my all-time favorite actresses-but this is a movie that she should have paid a long time ago to be trash-canned. I realize that it's almost 20 years old-but my dead grandmother can act better than these people did. Beware-it's not even worth the $ 5.50 WalMart rack...You know that when the acting stinks this bad that it's not even worth a couple of bucks-the sound quality is horrendous-there's no closed captioning to even hear the hideous dialog, and it looks as if it were filmed on a $ 1.98 budget. I thought that I'd like to see Sandra in an early role to see how she evolved as an actress-but YIKES is too kind a word to use...
